Hello! Now that K9 is gone (), is there another program I could use instead? Sorry, I'm keeping this thread short, as I'm very tired.
Is there none, or do people simply not wish for it anymore? Or does this forum get too many threads a day nowadays?
Why not unplug your computer? Limit options. Go to a library is you must go on the web. Instead of using energy to walk to, and turn on a computer, why not just let your hands rest at your side, and close your eyes when you need to. See how effortless this can be: So, you would like to have COMPLETE VICTORY too? Simple things are NOT always easy; and easy things are NOT always simple! RULE #1 "Never touch your genitals, other than to urinate or bathe." RULE # 2 "Immediately look away from teasing, seductive temptation."
I use safesurfer for my phone, it seems to work pretty good, just make sure you randomize the PIN to resist temptation. As for my computer, I use (not sure if it's the proper name since I'm phoneposting right now) Ublock origins on opera. One of the things I was impressed with was that it even works in incognito mode unlike some programs, which helps cause I have a problem with edging. Hope this helps.
I have a buddy of mine in AA, and although he's been clean for 3 years now, he never considers himself free from addiction for fear of relapse. I'm sure you're doing great, but be careful thinking you are completely immune to sin. That being said, I'm always on the lookout for new suggestions/techniques if you have some.
@Homeslice, Count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
It would have been nice if you had stated your source... It took me a while to realise that you were quoting something (I was wondering why you were using ancient spelling all of a sudden ). Pardon me? Thanks. I'm not looking for a filter for my phone, and I'm not sure if one'd exist (it'd probably have to be a separate browser, that wouldn't be as good as the default one). I do have a smartdevice, but that's from Apple, which has a web filter built-in. I don't randomise the code anymore, as it's a hassle and I don't want to need that much of a barrier. But thanks, I'll use uBlock Origin!
If anyone else is installing uBlock Origin: it looks like it was originally intended to be an adblocker. However, I didn't find it difficult to go into the settings and turn all ad-related filters off, and then go on filterlists.com to find a porn list to subscribe to (and a lingerie one as well, if you'd like).
if you want something powerful filtering program, well you need to put your wallet on it, im just saying..
Mr.Lotus, I do apologize. Just got my computer back and it appears Ublock is indeed the adblocker. The actual porn blocker is called FamilyFriendly Parental Control, Porn Blocker with it's symbol as 3 puzzle pieces together. I still stand by my original review though. Sorry for the confusion!
Yeah, I get it. I didn't have a subscription, by the way, but Symantec is killing off K9, probably as they aren't making a profit off it.
uBlock wasn't great for me, because just a single click was enough for clicking it away. I'd prefer having to input a password. FamilyFriendly Parental Control, Porn Blocker doesn't work for me. It displays as a question mark inside a grey circle with a white outline on my extension bar. It's got permissions to change things, but nothing is blocked.
I'm not using internet much try being offline I'm drawing and reading books to pass Time. here is small gamer tip - for a month I played two offline single player campaign games and I barely used internet I never feel like using it.(second game was trash bioshock 2 and sleeping dogs)
