does nofap offer any way to connect people in person? I really want to talk to a real life person face to face about this shit but I don’t like the idea of going to SAA meetings. I’ve heard bad things and the 12 steps don’t really align with me.

You would be surprised how the 12 steps relate in your life.

It's not just alcohol and sex or drugs.

Any bad habbit, hang up, emotional problem can be improved from applying the principles of the steps

I’ve been in AA before. I just don’t like the whole self-diminishing of it. Meetings don’t make me feel empowered they make me feel helpless and vulnerable like I’m destined for failure if I don’t go to them every single day.

Maybe I’ll give SAA a try just to be able to talk about it in person with some people.

    I didn't like SAA

I have found a home with CR celebrate recovery. The steps are all biblically based but CR brings it back to that, it's much more supportive and encompasses a broader look into yourself.

Everyone has habits hurts and hangups

I just don't think I could sit in a room and be the only recovering porn addict man. Its not like other addictions.

    Without disclosing

My CR group is bigger sometimes 50 people for the combined womens and men's meetings. We break into smaller groups for shares and my smaller group is mens A-Z issues usually 8 or 9 people and 3/4 have sexual issues they deal with as well as other issues

    I struggle with
    PA
    SA
    codependancy
    People pleasing
    Food addictions
    People pleasing
    Anger
    Objectification
    Denial
    M
    .........I could keep going

My point is people put up good walls and armor and you do t know what a person struggles with until you become open and honest and vulnerable

That's perfectly fine since it's not for everyone. Maybe seeing a therapist would be better if you can afford it.

  9. Some therapists may also be able to provide supportive group therapy for your specific issue. My therapist, who specialized in sex addiction, was able to provide me with group information when our one on one sessions had concluded.
