    'Sup guys.

I decided to quit porn last summer; can't remember exactly, but it was somewhere mid-June. Then I was 10 weeks into my NoFap and then ruined my streak by sexting and dirty talking on the phone. Sigh. So close.

But, on the upside, I still haven't visited a porn site, nor watched any actual porn. Sure, nude scenes come up in TV shows every now and then, but I figured those don't actually count.

THE STRUGGLE: I must say it is almost a daily (well, by now a weekly) battle to not watch porn. My brain sometimes just fantisizes about how many new videos certain websites must not have released (answer: at least 30 or so). But I try to shut it down. I came this far, I can go further than this! Dealing with the urge sucks though.

Interestingly: I convinced a friend of mine to quit porn too. He also hates the fortnightly wet dreams. We are getting there, hopefully he will complete his 90 days. I am close myself, let's hope I don't slip up by speaking to some girl again. Nothing is worse than that disgusting feeling after masturbation. I haven't even touched upon religious guilt!

Anyway guys, for those of you out there that just started: Yes, this sucks, it is a daily struggle. I suggest you busy yourself with reading and training. We will get there. We all will, eventually.

P.S. Note to self: Movies with sex scenes are a slippery slope (I am talking about those sex comedies, not a mere topless scene), best to avoid.

  2. I must say to be able to to convince a friend to quit porn is really great. Denying yourself the urge to give in to porn will make you a better, stronger person. Just hang in there. Good work!

    Thanks bro!

The thing is that we both realized that porn is messed up. He already wanted to quit, just didn't want to deal with wet dreams.

Tip for anyone trying to convince friends to do NoFap: Start it off by your surprise at the fact that many things aren't deemed addiction whereas they are. "If you can't quit a (bad) habit forever, it is addiction, isn't it?" Then transition to the topic of porn and how you read many testimonies bearing witness to this. Add in your own journey and urge him to try it too. Might work, might not. Your job is to bring someone to the pond, but you can't make him drink from it.
