One year since last relapse.

Discussion in 'Success Stories' started by Fractured Mindset, Feb 4, 2020.

  1. So this actually was yesterday, but I was exhausted from a hard workday on sunday. But... yesterday was the one year anniversary of my last relapse- a relapse that was triggered by a lack of sleep, having to go to work at 5 am, and consuming way too much sugar, and the second relapse after I got rejected. Still both times I found myself more bored than usual and realized I actually had my chance to quit and I did it. One year later I haven't found any new romantic pursuits, but on top of quitting masturbation later (that'll be in may), I'm not finding myself emotionally fatigued anymore.

And to think I'd have thought this task was impossible when I was younger.

What benefits do you see from all that time clean?

  3. For sure more energy, only getting emotionally fatigued when under serious stress, my concentration is slowly getting better in some parts of my life, and I feel like I want to do more things.
I also noticed my sleeping habits changed over the summer.

Hey, did you go through withdrawals? If you did, for how long and what were they? I am fighting withdrawals after 9 months of porn abstinence.

Congrats overall man, keep it going!

Just curious, what are your thoughts on how sugar affects triggering PMO? Any foods in particular?

  8. During this attempt, I didn't really have withdrawls. Normally, withdrawls were one of the main reasons I could only make it about a month at a time between relapses. I think I simply made the choice and stuck with it. How, I don't know.
Sugar IS going to raise your libido. Obviously, candies, chocolates and sodas/energy drinks are the absolute worst thing to consume. but there's so much sugar in all the foods out there today it's really hard to avoid. probably best to avoid sweets as much as possible.

Congratulations. What was different this time comparing to your previous attempts?

I wish you the strength and discipline to continue to be P free

  12. One year is truly impressive! It's really worth it to start NoFap to get rid of this emotional fatigue. I'm on month 7 and my mental state compared to what it looked like before is like night and day. I hope you'll read my story after I reach 1 year. Stay strong and thank you for the motivation.

  13. No ED, but did have problems with premature ejaculation. I can't say how that's changed since I have no intention of masturbating again any time soon.
I decided I was actually going to get myself a girlfriend, and knew I couldn't look at porn anymore. After I was rejected, I had two relapses (the first due to the pressure of being free, the second was due to lack of sleep, going to work at 5 am, and eating way too much sugar) but both times I found myself kind of bored with the material and realized this may be my chance to quit.

Serious attempt #1 involved me quitting porn, but not masturbation due to kind of a religious moment at church. that only lasted eight to ten months.
Serious attempt #2 involved both quitting porn and masturbation as a new years resolution. the masturbation thing only lasted 40+ days due to work stress and caffeine consumption, and the porn quitting only lasted sixish months.

    Congrats man!
Can I know your age? Also at which age did you start this bad habit?

  15. So I'm 23 now, I started porn at 14 10ish months. My first serious attempt was at 16, second at 19, and this one 22.
