The last day or so has been pretty hard to get through. I've had some alone time. I took a quick peek on some of my favorite sites. Not enough to get excited or even erect. But I could feel the blood starting to rush, the way an animal can feel a hurricane coming.

    It's a slipery slope...

I'm on it at the moement. When you peek, it's only a matter of time before you find that you are MO'ing.

I know what you mean. EVERY one of my relapses has started as a "peak," which led to edging. From there it was a short trip to a relapse. You have to get your head around the concept that porn is simply something you don't do anymore. And that includes the peaks. Good luck

Taking even a teeny tiny little peak will spell disaster. Trust me, I know this from personal experience. It only takes just one to undermine your progress.

Sneeking peeks is a very very bad idea! Cut all your ties with pornography!

Plus that little peak gives your brain what it is craving- a shot of happy juice that sets you right a bit. Makes you feel better in the short run but reinforces the belief that without porn you feel like shit.

Accidental peeks are fine but imo an intended peek is as good as a reset

@is this it: That is the problem I have still been having with substitutes for pornography. It's totally a substitute rush -- one that is inferior, but my brain was getting a fix.

Although to a lesser degree, with these P subs, I was still in a guilt/shame cycle as well as sometimes running to look at stuff like that out of an escape strategy from stress in life. Like @Peaceful Warrior said, I totally think it's about intentionality, and I don't mean when I'm successful at bridling thoughts from an unexpected image or real life potential trigger, but if I decide that I want to be bad or weak and cave in. Kicking all P subs has been quite difficult so far this ear. I hated resetting my P subs counter last time, after just 1 look, but since I really was starting to have lust in my heart, I had to be honest with myself about it. But, my life feels much more pure even just 1 week into being strict and diligent about it.

Avoiding old habits is hard to kick, as time goes on you'll get to know what your triggers are, and realize the triggers bring shame.. Mine is Instagram!!
Gosh I have to delete it for good.

@Jamescrow Thanks. I've made some posts about it. I'm in the 40+ category. 3 years isn't so long at my age. Basically, though, since P helped kill love in my first marriage, and since my [current] wife helped support me through addiction recovery, life is a million light years better. My struggle is hardly over, though. I'm like back to being a 13-year old in some ways, on shaky moral legs. Definitely trying, but still screwing up now and then. My peers that avoided these problems are the real men.

  14. Dont sneak anymore peaks it will surely lead to a relapse.I have did it before and it has led me to relapse over a dozen times.DONT DO IT!!

When I go on facebook, I start to think about porn. I see many ladies with their photos and it makes me horny.
I try to avoid facebook as much as I can, but, I also feel horny when I go to sleep, when I get bored while studing...
I have many trigers. It can also pop up to my mind when I take a ride at the bus and I see some girls in the bus or in the train...
So, I take something with me like, a hand griper to crush, some cards to learn for my studies, I try to talk to someone about life and etc...

I watch pirated TV and movies on putlocker and projectfreetv. There are always porn popups, and I'm quick to close them before they even load. A few times they loaded and I saw the Xrated images, and in an intentional moment I looked for a few seconds before I closed it, and I wasn't really tempted to look at anything further. I wonder if I should stop watching pirated TV and movies altogether??

@blindvulture Yep, that's something that could be a problem for me. Just the TV sites in my case (which isn't outright illegal or as copyright questionable), and I used AdBlock and whatnot, but it's still just not a good place. Having spent over a year not in that neighborhood on the Internet, I'll bet it would come as a shock what is generally seen on those sites. It's like you get numb to things, though.
