20yo male here. Currently in Uni. Been working out for 3 years- mostly lifting, waking up at 5AM, etc.

Decided to abstain from PMO for as good this 2020. Relapsed again and again in the past. Best streak was around 20 days. But this time, I made it 80 days. I thought that I had quit for good, but once the quarantine came down I got the strongest urge and finally gave in.

Regret, regret, and deep regret. Life was so good. I would walk anywhere anxiety free, not stutter in my speech, and had laser sharp productivity- I also went on a few dates. But no, dumbass me choses to end it all for one moment's pleasure. Fuck. I relapsed 3 more times within a week after, and feel like shit- productivity has gone down, no motivation, etc.

I am currently about 2 days in once more. I want to make at least 100 days this time- and hopefully be done with PMO for good.

  2. Good job for reaching 80 days..you should be proud anyways..a relapse doesn't mean failure
It sucks when you relapse after a long streak, but it's ok and everyone on this journey has to deal with this..don't beat yourself up
Learn from that relapse and instantly move on..you didn't lose the benefits so you can overcome this setback

Just pick yourself up again and keep trying. Never give up, that’s what matters most. Also, keep going on dates, don’t give those up either. It’ll keep you motivated to stay sober.

also, if possible, you could join saa, having that personal interaction can be lifesaving for people. That’s how it is for me.

Thank you so much for the advice; universal man= good stuff!
Hopefully when this quarantine is done, I will hit 100+ days before school starts again and make my past mistake look insignificant.

    Thanks and stay safe,

Appreciate all this great advice- for sure! Although dates may be a bit difficult due to the virus, haha.

I think what originally made me sober for so long though was the social interaction I had on a daily basis. With instructors, fellow students, etc. Upwards to 50+ different people every day. Here at home I really don't have the chance to meet many new faces.

I think that at the same time though, I shouldn't place so much dependency on social life being the sole deterrent; It will be very difficult, but I believe if I can endure this alone, it would be much easier after this pandemic is done with.

Thanks again and please stay safe.
