Building up the time between PMOs or straight cold turkey?

    I've noticed a lot here go straight cold turkey on the PMOing. Serious respect to those who do but I think I'd find this too tough and more likely to relapse long term.

    Has anyone experienced trying to build up longer times between each reset? Like a week at first, then two weeks, then a month, then two months and so on?

    I've noticed a few have mentioned 30 days as kind of a threshold anyway that once you make it past that point, you rarely go back to old habits anyway.

    I did that way,
    and if casually the body lets you one week + one day, let him.
    then a week + two days more..

    I'm heading through Day 2 right now but I've still edged and looked at a few hot images. But I still consider it success since I haven't orgasmed or watched many videos, plus I haven't forgotten about it so I'm hoping once I pass the next few days it will get easier.

    I'm currently trying to go cold turkey (even though my counter says my goal is only 30 days)

    It's nice to hear you say that, after 30 days, urges are usually subsided, because this is hard as hell.

    I think there's no right way to do it. At first, try whichever one you're more comfortable with. If that fails, then give the other method a shot. By then, you'll know which one you liked better and can continue in that direction. It all depends on who you are.

    Personally, I've been almost perfect since finding NoFap, when I dropped it cold turkey. But for about 6 months before that I was trying to up the time between faps gradually. It didn't really work for me. The chaser effect was too much. I think my longest streak that way was 12 days.
     
  6. I've been doing it with the mentality of going cold turkey, but the streaks tend to build themselves greater and greater anyway. So yeah, started on barely making a week, then a month and so on.

    I think if you let yourself think that its ok to relapse just because your not doing it cold turkey is actually more likely to lead to unnecessary relapses.
