    Hello...
As a high school student, I've been addicted to pornography and masturbation for a few years right now, everytime I try to go a few days without doing it I keep failing.
It's a total waste of my time and I can't help it.
I've been having suicidal thoughts these days, I recently tried to hang myself with a rope around my neck in the bathroom and I also tried to cut my arms with a knife. PLEASE HELP.

  2. Hi there...
    Welcome to the community! :)

There's hope for everyone. Even you... Just start small. Set goals of staying masturbation free for 3 days per week. Then slowly increase it to 5 days per week. Over months and years you will reach a point where you no longer need it anymore.

  3. hey buddy chill...everyone start here with the same situation... since you are here its up to you how much determination you hold to quit this porn... this is not instant magic that you thought and you will quit... since access to porn and porn related stuff is too easy it is too hard to quit and rather like other addiction this dont consume much of money so this thing make this addiction more worse... few things to be remember... dont push yourself too hard else you will fail for sure... set a goal and focus on that only... when you are on this journey the longer you survive the more chance of your failure increases... may be someday you could relapse just after watching some steamy scene on netflix/amazon... set small goals... begin with challenges go for 3 days, then 7 days then further more...
the most important thing you will never succeed in once you will keep failing and its up to you how you keep moving... dont let your failure get burden on yourself even if you fail take a deep breath and restart again... as depression with struggle due to pmo increases suicidal thoughts obviously came to mind... ignore them... look for positivity... look for trigger... since you are here you will find many people who are struggling and haven't quit... even myself being here struggling since last 6 years on this website but with little success... change your lifestyle... change your habits... ignore things that could relapse you... find an accountability partner if needed... it is easy to quit but rather hard to survive so fight for survival...

I think maybe this is the problem, I've been aiming for high goals for example, 1 month without doing it, I think I'll have to start gradually and aim for smaller goals and then go on to bigger ones. Thank you very much.

I don't know why I have aimed for 30 days right away and now I knew that the best advice is aiming for a few days first and then gradually increasing the number of days as time goes by, thank you very much for this advice maybe it'd be better to use this method.

There are many great resources for people who try to commit suicide, may I suggest you start there such as calling the suicide hotline. If it's because of the pm+ I can totally relate and this is just one person's opinion but you don't necessarily have to even hint at that when you call. Kind of like "I call people who understand about suicide attempts to talk about my suicidal feelings and I talk to people who understand about pm+ about my pm+ use.". There are many great resources of all kinds, definitely call the hotline of you notice yourself start take action towards self harm again.
Maybe you can relate: every time I felt suicidal I had just used pm+. I felt so much shame all the time and especially after acting out sexually in any way. I thought it was because of the sex and thinking about sex, which made sense.
As for size of goals I practice one day at a time of taking freedom from pm+ use. And it's been one day at a time for seven years of continuous back to back not having to use and usually happy about not having to. Similar to what's been shared, if this guy can experience that anyone can.

Please be gentle on yourself brother. I request you to go through these three videos I have linked below -

Don't worry about this mate. That's the nature of this trap.

For a decade, I too wasted my time, vitality and all the positive things that life can offer. You aren't the exception.

The fact you understand this problem and are trying to make efforts about getting over this means you are well above 95% of the male population.

Message me if you need to talk.

Actually I don't mind calling the pm+,when I was desperate for help during the first day I tried to commit suicide this idea of calling them didn't pop up in my head, thank you very much for it! Next time I must call them. I'm still having suicidal thoughts and I also think I'm going to tell a trusted person about this situation.

Hey, I also had similar experience .. there were times I had suicidal thoughts but this helped me alot ...1. appreciate the small achievement you make in life this boosts your self esteem .. 2. realize that you are unique and so valuable and God loves you despite your challenges....He has already forgiven you don't allow yourself to be controlled by the guilt that you may sometimes feel ..finally remember that no child of God is too broken for the carpenter of Nazareth to repair and when He repairs you, you become better than the original.

  11. Hey, welcome to the NoFap community
    : )
It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!
First let me go ahead and drop some helpful links for you:

Getting Started Guide / Forum Rules / How to Use the NoFap forums/ Glossary/ NoFap Panic button /
Set up your day counter /
    Rebooting Resources/
    Accountability groups (new!) /
    About NoFap/ Support Nofap
    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a careful look at each section in the forum, there may be something(s) you will find to be of big help to you.
Secondly I advise you to be active on your profile(as there a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then begin posting frequent status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement.
The forum has got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see.
People will find your profile and give you support.

There’s a portion of people who love communicating in the profile section..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive conversations. It would be great to have you join in and become part of the team!
We support others in the threads, profile posts, and journals/reboot logs.
Once you receive some support, please be sure and be grateful to the member for the help/support you received and consider giving some in return to anyone you wish.

Thirdly, you should highly consider creating a public journal/reboot log (in the appropriate section for you) to write about your days in depth for us members to follow along on your journey and offer support to you on.

Please start your journal in the correct section and with that, also try your best to post in the correct sections as it is mandatory and would be helpful to the mods who organize the forum. : )

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!

  12. Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you are struggling. Rebooting has its ups and downs, just like life. We see many people experiencing both the ups and downs during the reboot, and though it may be hard to see now, these feelings you are having won’t last forever. It will get better with time, if you are patient and wait.

In the meantime, please seek professional help. I know the idea of calling a helpline might terrify you, but in times of crisis, we often need someone their to put our lives in perspective. So please contact someone who can help and don’t hang up on them. The International Association for Suicide Prevention maintains a list of suicide prevention hotlines for countries all over the world. Also, if you don’t feel up to actually talking to someone on the phone, StopSuicide maintains a list of online instant messaging and chat suicide prevention resources.

You are not alone in this. There are ways to treat depression. Please contact people that can help you. Being depressed often makes it feel like you don’t have any more options. But that is a lie. That is just the depression talking. These feelings you have won’t last forever. We are in this with you, and we will all be cheering for you to get through this!

    Hi, welcome to the community

I would recommend you to stay in touch with members and read their success stories. You may also learn tricks to avoid the short-term pleasure and to face the temptations.

Be AWARE of your habits and control what you see and what/who you spend your time with.

It's also important to limit the usage of social media. In addition, never be free! Use your free time as much as possible and do sports, exercise, attend classes, etc.

This video contains everything that you need to know about porn addiction. Lastly, here is a collection of ways to deal with the urges which worked great for me.

֍ You got this my friend ֍

I must call them the next time I try to commit suicide again, and I think I'll start seeking help and look for a therapist, also tell my trusted friends about it, thank you very much for your advice!
