    • Day 1 of nofap down. I feel good so far. I accomplished a decent amount since I didn’t waste several hours of the day. Definitely feel like I’m approaching this with a much more positive mindset than past attempts because I’m reading more research and testimonials about the negative effects of excessive pmo use but, more importantly, the positive effects of abstaining. I’m trying to come at this with a more holistic approach and use all of the available tools at my disposal. I’ve never even gotten on one of these websites before yesterday so it’s fairly new to me, but everybody seems to be in it together so if I could get some positive encouragement from y’all and hear from people going through similar journeys, I think this may be where I finally turn this car around and reclaim some personal agency in my life.

Not even gonna lie, I almost broke the streak already there.. had a pic pulled up, and I was in the bathroom going at it for 10-15 seconds before I had a lucid moment where I thought “isn’t this the exact type of thing I was just talking about not doing?” and somehow managed to stop myself. Not sure if I’ve ever done that in the middle of the process before so that’s progress I suppose!

  3. Hi SDPoPo,

I'm glad to read that you were able to stop yourself at the right moment ! If you want to reboot successfully i would be helpful to apply certain techniques... for example to note your top 3 triggers (what triggers you most to masturbate/look at porn). For example being alone, playing certain video games, following girls on Instagram. Note them and avoid them whenever possible.
Next step could be to note 3 things you do when the urges hit you. This could be for example taking a cold shower, making 20 pushups or trying meditation. Urges are temporary and with a strategy you can overcome them.

I wish you all the best on your journey :) !
