Pmo feels good.

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Jul 19, 2020.

  1. Just relapsed. They say you need to learn from every relapse. Well I am on NoFap journey for almost 5 months. And even though my day counter set to 0, I've made a hell lot of progress.
My perspective has changed and I a always look for ways to improve myself.
Pmo feels good. It feels good. Like a piece of a cheesecake. No one can say different. But it doesn't serve me anymore. Actually it never has. But without it I would never had to open my eyes and see where I am and where I wanna be.
I'm proud of my journey, and you should be proud too. You are one of the very few who is aware of his pattern and at least trying to do something about it.
So yeah, i can give you advices and motivate you even if i didn't make it till the 90th day. It's not about the days, its about you become better.
    Peace:emoji_v:

Congrats on you're progress, but the real progress in my opinion would be making it to 90 days but its up to you :)

  3. Yeah I agree with you. But if you reached 90 days without self-improvement and only out of fear that you'll wipe your counter, I think your missing the whole point of nofap

What you said is true, but for me it is kind of both i am working on self improvement like better mental health, controlling my emotions, and anxiety etc but at the same time being conscious about not relapsing. And abstaining from PMO has helped me to focus more on other things :)

  5. I agree PMO feels good, but it's just that pleasure. And as my favorite Nofap youtuber said "All the pleasure in the world won't make you happy." ~ Gabe Dawg

  7. Words of wisdom right there... to me that's the whole point in NoFap. You could stay away for 10 years but if that's all you did and you didn't grow or learn anything, one day you'll relapse and be literally right back to where you started or worse.

Mindset and self improvement are absolutely essential and at the core of overcoming an addiction, because if you don't learn more about yourself and why you compulsively do these things, how do you get better? Once you change how you think and learn where you're going wrong, it gets a lot easier.

Look at me for example, I'm sitting at I don't know how many days now but that doesn't really matter much when I still have some of the same problems from when I was using porn.

The day calendar helps in the beginning, but just like blockers, we need to eventually come off those things and rely on our selves instead of something else to help us out.

That's my take on it anyways. :emoji_slight_smile:

  8. This is entirely true BUT luckily, I think it's virtually impossible to go on a 90 days streak without self-improvement.
The time and energy you suddenly have will inevitably lead to self-improvement and a more active lifestyle. Even the most shelled-in person couldn't escape.
