hey i am 22 years old male struggling on the nofap journey for 3 years now. I just wanted to ask that should I avoid all the following triggers till I reach 90 days?
    1.Tv shows
    2.Anime
    3.Movies
    4.Instagram
    5.Twitch etc

or keep on using these and get through with willpower

forgot to reset my counter currently at 1 day

  2. Hi redditnamedmelikethis,

when you ask whether you should avoid x or y, you've already recognized the potential danger of your triggers 1-5.
Willpower and discipline are very important for a succesful reboot, BUT... that's not all. You need structures, routines, strategies that help you along the way. An example: if you have set yourself the rule not to see TV shows with hot girls for 90 days, than you don't need willpower in case you see a hot girl on screen, right ?
Rules and routines protect you. Set your own rules for the triggers 1-5 (perhaps 10 min. a day ?) and don't count on your willpower alone !

I wish you all the best on your journey :) !

  8. Running and hiding is not a good long term solution. You need to address the root causes of your addiction.

Does loneliness count as a root cause?

  10. Yes it does. Now that raises the question why are you lonely? It may be a complex topic and you need to do whatever needs to be done to improve upon it.

Stay away from triggers initially and then gradually build up the mindset to face them.
A few months later your mindset Should be changed.
“Wow she’s hot! So what?” And move on.

    Not quite.
You weren’t aware of what you were doing.
The vision was that of a worm in a Swamp. It should be that of a soaring eagle who can see the entire swamp and at the same time, pin point a worm.

  13. Eagles eat worms! (I know it's off-topic, but I found this to be ridiculous! Imagine being an eagle and eating worms!)

after about 4 or 5 days into nofap i just start getting suicidal thoughts and depression and it always leads to peeking and then ultimately a relapse :(

  20. Maybe you should confront those thoughts
