Do you track P, M, and I seperately?

Tonight I relapsed into M and O. I haven't watched porn in almost a week and had a streak of four days for M and O. However instead of watching Porn I watched what I call "gateway stuff". Sexual images. Mostly no nudity but still half naked. No sex either. What I'm wondering is so y'all count your progress in the letters separately or all together? Because while I just relapsed into M and O I haven't watched porn in nearly a week.

  2. For me, MO is also my issue.

You can set the counter to track MO, rather than PMO. That's what I do. I haven't looked at P for more than two years, but it took a long time to get a good MO streak going.

I also track other things like leering at women or flicking through non-P items online in my signature.

In the end, do what works for you.

The thing to do is learn to understand yourself, which I think is what you're doing. Good luck!

I think it depends on what do you wanna achieve, but you admitted that you were looking at "sexual images". It doesn't matter if they are half-naked or not...you were using them the same way you use pornography to stimulate yourself.
Regarding your question and “counting progress” - I'm not sure if you can separate P on one side and M+O on the other side. I'm thinking more like P+M on one and O on the other. That happens with the guys who want to stop their PM habit, but to continue with their normal sexual life (where O is necessary.)

  4. @R-say - I would suggest tracking them separately unless your goal is absolute purity. If you are anal retentive, you could even do a spread sheet of some sort, tracking how long it has been since you last did each behaviour and how long it has been that you haven't done any of those behaviours. Also, I would suggest trying to figure out which behaviour is your priority and focus on that one. The risk of lumping them all together is that you might look at some "I" one day and then think "fuck it. I relapsed. Might as well look at P and MO as well and then start all over. Heck, why not do it a few times, so that I can really get it out of my system?" That is a fairly common addictive response that will lead you right back to PMO.

Personally, I track O's. It's the one thing that either did or did not happen.* Then I'm not as hung up on whether such and such counts as M or P. That said, I try to avoid M and P and I (what many call P-subs) and F (fantasy)

*Having done Nofap for a long time now, I've had some O's which were unusual and a bit unclear - such as orgasms without emission and emissions without orgasm. So I really count the emissions.

Perhaps we all have to learn to live with some ambiguity. I haven't MO'd to P in a couple of years now, but it's been really messy and hasn't been that long since the last time I looked at P.

Thanks for all your help guys. I see alot of different viewpoints here and that helps me. I definitely would like to stay away from all of them. The longest I've ever gone without P is four months. But I was still major struggling with MO and what I call "gateway stuff" so I'd really like to be free from all of it.
