Guys, it has been just 3 days that I have been on nofap and I am getting strong urges, thought of P and am getting distracted due to this all the time with difficulty in sleep also. I see so many friends here successfully completing their challenge. Will appreciate if anyone could how they managed the initial phase of the nofap coz or any suggestions for me to handle the first 7-10 days and keep the motivation strong

  2. Take a cold shower. I mean COLD. Read a book, distract your brain. Go to sleep if you can. Remember why you started and let that be you motivation. A set back will make you feel worthless and isn’t worth it. You can do it, man! Mind over matter.

Thanks for the push Calvin. I needed to be reminded how worthless and regretful I actually used to feel after PMO. I will definitely try your suggestions.

I had the same thing, just move away from your technology, don't let the urges get to you, it was hard for me, when I started nofap, the first 5 days were hell the moment I close my eyes I see naked girls and some P memories, after that it got better, I am on day 21 without pmo, but I looked at some naked girls here and there, so it is not 100% clean. But it does worth it.

Your brain craves for a little dopamine. Give this dopamine in healthy ways. What excites you in a healthy way? Training, music, going out, parting, hiking, travelling etc. Just give a substance of dopamine but not porn of course

It’s actually quite simple. If you THINK about the bad stuff then you will have urges. If every time you find yourself beginning to think about it, and you immediately (and I mean immediately) push it out of your head then the urges won’t grab hold of you and you will be fine. Imagine you see a baby about to touch a hot stove, and without thinking you quickly run over and stop her from getting burned. That’s what you have to do. You are the baby, and every time those thoughts arise, quickly without thinking push them out of your head and you won’t have urges. Another way to look at it is quicksand: if you step in quick sand and you immediately react you can still get out; but if you step in quick sand and you kind of take your time about getting out then it’s to late and now you’re in trouble. And here’s the best part: after a while you won’t even have to think twice about immediately pushing those thoughts out of your head when they arise, you will just react, as if you just stepped in quick sand.

Don’t let yourself get sucked in. You only have a few seconds before it’s to late.

I’m going on day 11, and in those 11 days I haven’t had one urge that I wasn’t able to control because I immediately react when that thought arises. In fact, I hardly have any of the bad thoughts at all anymore.

It’s all in your head, literally.

Thanks a Ton guys for your suggestions that day. I could cross the 3-5 day mark where i normally succumbed previously. I now found that i need to be careful while generally looking at girls as it also triggers urges sometimes. But i keep reading your suggestions and other success stories daily on this forum to keep going also. This also helps in keeping the motivation up
