Yes, the title says it all. I've kind of reached middle age but I can't seem to get this porn addiction out of my head after all these years. Although I'm happily married with a beautiful innocent wife who loves me with all her heart, it's been over 20 years that I've been addicted to porn and living a double life without the knowledge of my family. Everytime I've started to reboot, I've had mixed success. Maybe it is because I had been doing it haphazardly. I was aware of nofap thanks to its subreddit. But I discovered this forum only sometime back. Although I was a lurker till now, I want to make this reboot count. I want this to be the last reboot. And so I'm looking forward to be an active member of this site and, with your help, shed the mask that I have been wearing all my life (ironic, right? talking about removing one's mask during these times!)
That makes two of us, @yearner. I just joined tonight; a 29-year-old with the goal of kicking this horrible habit, addiction, whatever you want to call it out of my life as I enter my 30s next year. Day 0 for me. Not going to count the days, but will make the days count instead. Let's do this!
@yearner you're not alone. I'm also married with 2 kids, a family I very much love and I'm grateful for. I've wanted this family for so long I won't let my addiction take over anymore like it has for the last 20 years. I believe it will tough for us, but we will only have to be tougher and get through this! I'm with you
Thank you very much for your replies. Glad to be part of this forum. Well, just a quick update. The first three days were easy, what with the loads of work that I had. But now that the weekend is here, I'm getting urges like there's no tomorrow. And it's going to be tough. I'm planning to note down everything in my journal. Will probably start a journal on this forum as well.
I believe the trick is to be in 100%. Easier said than done at times, of course, but being serious about it gets the job done. This is also my first time joining the forums after trying the nofap lifestyle and lurking for a few years. Best of luck to you.
