    Hello everyone,

    My name is Steven and I'm new on this forum. Im 28 years old and I come from Belgium. I like to play soccer and I like to do my work (selling houses). The reason that I signed up is to share stories with eachother. I would like to get some help on some problems, which I experience. At the other side I would like to help others by sharing some of my personal experiences.

    I would like to ask your help, because at this moment I'm struggling on certain things. and your help is appreciated! The last 4 years I have a wonderfull relationship with a very nice girl and every part of this relationship is good. Except one. On my 13th year I discovered the world of pornography. Since that moment it has never left (4-5 times per week, average 30 min per day). It was a very nice way to hide my insecurities and my lonelyness on that age. My life has improved a lot (career, relationships, confidence) but this habbit always stayed. Therefore I have a lot of problems on the sexual parts. Losing erections quickly, problems of finishing, fear of failure on real life sex due to high expectations and many more...

    I take the step to recover
    Enough to quit. Or not? I tried to stop many many times in my life. The most days that I kept myself from doing anything was 9. At the end of the battle I always lose. Until know... I take the step and for the first time in my life I admit that I'm addicted and I want to learn why some things are happening. Therefore I would like to share some of my questions with you. Not only to help me.. but as a open discussion about certain topics in order to learn from eachothers experiences. Im very curious towards your opinion about the questions;

    Questions about quiting porn
    I was reading about the fact that pornography hits your dopamine a big time. Therefore many people advice to quit on a cold turkey way (100% stopping of pornography). I wonder if the cold turkey way was working the best for you and why?

    Losing the battle; consequenses
    Sometimes I tell myself; I have to quit 2 months. After 10 days I lose my battle and I look porn. The question which is reasing my now; is this 1x watching dangerous and will it get you back to 0? As an example; when I start by quiting everything, my recovery would be on 0. At the end of the 2 months it would be on 100. Imagine if I stopped 10 days (and I got some first signs by erections back) and my recovery would be at 10 (by example). If you look 1 time, would it get you back at 0? Or would it get you back to 9 as an example?

    Flatline
    My times I realise that the start is very good (erections back, high libido a couple of days). After 5-6 days I realise a big mood swing and it is somehow scary; I lose my libido and I lose my erections. Is this the so called ''flatline''? Have you experienced this as well? Should it frighten you to the point that you want to look certain things in order to get back to the old you? Or is it all a trap and is this the only way to recovery?

    Like I said I'm very curious about your personal experiences through the above topics. If you have any questions or personal stories, let me know!

    Literally just quit porn and excessive masturbation 5 days ago after my dick went dead a few hours after fapping and I told myself that I would stop watching porn. I think I'm in a flatline but have had vivid sex dreams in the past 3 days with weak erections and would go away as soon as I woke up. I dont get no morning wood or nothing throughout the day. I may get a little arousal but my erection is very weak. Has anybody experienced this during a flatline
