Backround info - 17 year old , been fapping all since puberty almost everyday. Currently on day 41 no porn and day 31 of no M or O and am 100% i will make it to 90 days+. I am usually an occasional smoker of marijuana, such as once a week or on weekends, but since I have quit porn and masturbation, i have been smoking at least once a day. This also may be because i have a lot more free time now that It's summer time and I am done high school. Am I wanting to smoke more weed because im wanting to release dopamine? should I attempt to quit smoking also? if anyone has any tips or experience with this that would be awesome. Thanks :)

What i think i the addiction to Marijuana is more severe than PMO addiction. It should be in concern first.I dont know why you do that.Do you know its negatives effects on you?

Marijuana is a sacred substance that should be used, not abused. If you feel you are smoking too much, you probably are. Take a tolerance break for a few weeks, and witness how it affects you. Furthermore, at your age, you should be smoking less regardless of the circumstances. At 17, you get psychologically addicted with greater ease, and you don't want that. The herb was put on this earth to bring people closer together, and to bring one closer to oneself. Using it to escape oneself is not the right thing to do, in my opinion.

    Good luck!

The short answer is: when smoked properly, with the right people and in the right mindset, this plant can bring you closer to yourself and closer to others. The holy herb helps bring emotions and thoughts to the surface. It spreads a positive vibration. One which you can learn from, about yourself and others, and become closer.

Marijuana has many qualities and benefits - medicinal, spiritual, economical, social. Positive ones! BUT, marijuana is not for everyone. Just like any other psychoactive plant or manufactured drug, it can be abused. If you aren't mindful of your actions and feelings - if you are abusing the plant instead of using it - it can backfire. And it does, on many people. This is why it got a bad rap as a "gateway drug".

When I smoke, I do it in my own home with people I love. Friends, family. I smoke at specific times, and don't walk around high all day. Though, make no mistake - I have also done that in my younger years.

Marijuana is a psychoactive plant. It actively stimulates your mind. If you take it to the right places, your mind can open up to many new things. This plant can open doors. Of knowledge, which is power. Of understanding. True understanding leads to compassion and humility. It can help set your mind free of certain filters. THIS is why it is illegal.

I am not saying weed is the key and answer to all issues. I am only saying that this plant can help us discover even more about ourselves and others, in a way of enlightenment and clarity. Weed is not a shortcut to happiness, or an empty promise - it is a sacred plant that needs to be treated with respect. It was put here for us all to benefit from. And no, it is not a drug. It is a plant. Just a plant.

A plant can do more than synthetic chemicals can. Many of these psychoactive things are derived from plants but its not for stimulation or understanding oneself. The purpose of extracting this is for diagnosing psychotic patients. Its not for common people. If we want to know ourselves or deep into our own consciousness then its better to practice MEDITATION OR YOGA.Comparatively it has less side effects. Moreover people do not have perfect idea about all these things and how worse it can change the self.

Okay, so let us agree to disagree. I said marijuana is not for everyone, and I meant it.

I agree with you that first and foremost, you should get to know yourself without use of external modifiers. You should know a little bit about who you are, before you start meddling with this plant. BUT, it certainly is for common people, in my opinion. Of course, it has to be in moderation. Just like anything that has the potential to alter your perception.

Meditation and yoga can be enhanced by use of the sacred herb. I know this because I have done this. The times I have done that were few and far between, but it certainly elevated the experience to some degree. I also enjoy the simple spiritual closeness that one achieves through labor and hard work, be it manual or mental or spiritual. I hear what you are saying. I have done that, and still do that. Life is an endless journey of getting to know oneself.

When I say that weed was put here to bring us closer, I meant exactly that. No more, no less. Take it or leave it.

    sacred

    adjective
    sa·cred \ˈsā-krəd\

worthy of religious worship : very holy
    relating to religion
highly valued and important : deserving great respect

    http://www.merriam-webster.com/

I am not here to discuss its religious significance, though it certainly exists. You asked me to give evidence? with what? on what scale?

How can you measure spiritual merit with physical tools or science? The sanctity of the herb is in the hands of those who use it.

It is sacred to me, and abhorring to others.
It is highly valued in my eyes, and is unimportant in others' eyes.
I treat it with respect, and others treat it like crap.

To make something holy means to set it aside. To make it special. To differentiate it. That is what I do with the herb.
I use this plant for self-improvement. I am here to give my opinion, and I stand firm by what I said. Marijuana is a gift to mankind.

LSD is synthesized in a lab. It is man made. If you set it aside, then yes - it is holy to you. It has significance.
Herb grows from the earth. Just like that. I have set it aside. It has significance to me.

There is a difference there. I am sure even you can agree on that, and it is a fundamental one at that.
Made by man VS made by nature.

BUT, like I said - it isn't necessarily for everyone.
If you want to continue arguing, save your time and energy. I understand what you are saying, and I stand firm behind what I say.

As for the case at hand - this 17 year old guy just finished high school, is trying to quit PMO, and he says he is smoking more often. all I said is that marijuana can be a blessing, but that if he FEELS he should smoke less, then he probably SHOULD. I also cautioned that psychological addiction is very possible, especially at such a young age.

    All of this remains true.

Thank you very much for your insight and experience! I will definitely be taking a break from the smoking for a while to see how it affects me. I don't necessarily think that I abuse it or am addicted, I'm not someone who smokes before work or stays high all day. It's usually at night when all I would do anyway would be play video games, eat and go to sleep. So I guess I just figure why not. Thanks again though It's nice to have someone who understands the drug and has experience :)

Weed can be behaviourally addictive and can cause long term damage to your hippocampus (the part of the brain that holds long term memories - it's also associated with learning). Be careful that you're not replacing your P dependance with that of marijuana because the brain damage is generally irreversible particularly in adolescence.

  15. I smoked weed for several years when I was younger.
The main reason I quit was because of mood swings & energy apathy swings that were clearly the result of using this drug.
It took me a long time to recover, life became a shade more dull and boring without it, it's hard to quantify when the cloud completely lifted but it was at least a year.
In the past I would have said that despite negative impact there was a good side to this period in my life; increased my awareness and sensitivity to many things made me aware of things I had not realized before. In particular music, some social interactions, but many other things as well.
But now I know even that is hogwash all these I can now readily attain with meditation & self hypnosis. And I can go further than I did when I relied on weed to enhance my state of mind. Plus with meditation there are no mood or energy swings accompanying it either. So in the end I wish I had know better and stayed away from it, just like I wish I had know better and stayed away from PMO. Many wasted years... but ready to take on the rest of my life without fucking it up with stupid shit

Dude, @MadHatter those were some of the wisest, well-reflected and on-point things I've ever read about weed. Thanks for that :)

@rydermuzik10 I think everyone else already said enough but yeah, do take a break and see how your body & mind react. I do one month without alcohol once a year and it's quite enlightning.

    No, thank you, Captain!

What can I say? I simply believe in what the prophet Marley said:
"When you smoke the herb, it reveals you to yourself."

Incidentally, I too am currently on a tolerance break. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Let us lift our heads high, and give Jah praises!
    ONE LOVE!

marijuana is a god's herb, it promotes peace and true love, non-violence type like any other illuminati drugs.

In my local community, many folks smoke pots together and they discuss philosophy and life most of them time, and its better than the folks who drink beer and get crazily drunk and do all kinds of reckless stuffs.

I have smoked only 4 times as it wasn't legal in my country, and it was great, but I got dizzy every time I smoked, and it always made me sleep and rest sufficiently.

Cannabis is often consumed for mental and physical effects, such as heightened mood, relaxation, and an increase in appetite.Possible side-effects include a decrease in short-term memory, dry mouth, impaired motor skills, red eyes, and feelings of paranoia or anxiety. Why it feels good is because it affects the cannabinoid receptors in brain and provide neural stimulation.
Even though it gives you any freedom from pain or any good feeling it has negative effects on human internal organs. It creates Toxicity,Lung disorders,Cause for Cancer,Cardiovascular,Neurological and many more. Its is used in medicinal field because doctors know the exact allowed concentration to use them.still it may cause further problems. But just think,If a person is about to die of pain then its better to suppress that and let him die without pain using such things.
If we use marijuana for understanding peace,true-love or what ever .We may feel like it i agree with that but at the same time you are destroying the vital healthy organs and keeping them in trouble. If our vital organs are in perfect condition then only everything is possible naturally.
