Hello fellow Catholics! Any resources/prayers that you all would recommend to help with NoFap? I read the bible and pray daily, go to mass every Sunday but it doesn't seem to be enough. I tend to relapse at night before bed or in the middle of the night...
Hey I just commented on your other post too haha. Maybe a silly suggestion, but sometimes if I'm having a rough night when it comes to temptations or even just trying to get to sleep I'll put on some religious podcast or video and just let that play. Lately I've been listening to these lectures on youtube by a professor named Ryan Reeves (also the name of his channel) and he talks about a lot of church history topics and other topics from a Catholic perspective. Praying of course never hurts and I need to be doing it more often, but when temptations come on I find myself mentally praying for God's forgiveness. I believe that helps break the addictive cycle of "Oh I had a bad thought, I guess I'm just a bad person, so I'll just give up/give in." As far as other resources go, FORMED is an app/website with all Catholic content. Audio books, movies, you name it. Ascension media on youtube and I believe another one is the Catholic World. There's stuff out there to listen to and I think having that in your back pocket will help fight those midnight temptations.
Thank you for the suggestions! I actually really enjoy those Ascension Presents videos on YouTube, I never thought to just put them on in the middle of the night but that is a wonderful idea.
I also know Matt Fraad has a lot of resources as well. He has written a couple of books I believe - the most well know is probably "The Porn Myth". There's also a resource called Strive which some men find helpful as well.
What happened to Matt Fradd's website - do you know? I heard him reference it in several spots, but it the web page is no longer working. Did he rebrand or is it just gone?
