This may be a one off thing for me. But we'll see.

For me, giving up porn and masturbation means "self control". There isn't anything in this world that gives self control more than controlling your sexual energy.

Giving up porn means becoming a better person. A person who doesn't "desire" to stay 24/7 alone in his room so that he can enjoy self stimulation. A person who's confident about himself in evert aspect. A person who strives to be better every single day. A person who understands the value of time and is mature and makes mature decisions in every aspect.

Lastly, giving up porn means being a good Muslim. I want to grow closer and closer towards my God through my prayers. And it is no doubt PMO is an obstacle to this. It has always been in the way.

I think this is a really good idea whoever started this thread. For some people not all reasons to quit porn uncovers on day 1. It takes time....to reveal all of em. The more you realise how better off you are without PMO (I.e when days go by), the more and more it makes sense to quit pmo and you'll naturally get reasons as to why you want to continue this journey forever.

First time posting, thought I might as well start here.

It means letting go of the hate, jealousy and my past which I used porn (unknowingly) to alleviate all those emotions. To become a hero. As child like as that sounds being a hero is important to me.

I'm giving up porn because today I want to GET THINGS DONE! And getting things done in a systematic way requires that I become disciplined. I have to discipline my mind, I have to discipline my thoughts and I have to focus. Porn undermines all of this and that is why today I will not watch it.

Giving up porn means breaking free from a negative compulsion that I cannot otherwise control. It also means getting to have a way more healthy relationship with women - not just with an eventual partner, but with women in general.

I'm giving up porn because I love live way too much to waste it in front of a screen being unproductive. I'm giving up porn because it has brought me into so many bad situations already and I hate it.

giving up porn means the first necessary step to having the healthiest possible relationships and to be able to healthily look for and find dating partners, and, eventually, a long-term partner.

    Potential

I am still young enough. To find a girlfriend, to have children, to stabilize my career, to get married to my future wife, to live my life. That's why I'm giving up the dopamine soup of PMO-A (PMO + alcohol).

Even if I never have children or get married, at the end of my life I'll be able to look at my future old self with pride knowing that I gave it my all. Knowing that I fought for it. I strived and worked for it. If I can't go 90 days without PMO (A is my own addition which I am limiting), then how could I properly sacrifice for a family?

  11. I just want to feel normal again. I want to date. I want to be in a healthy relationship with me and others. I wanna stop seeing girls and humans beings as purely objects!

I'm giving up porn because it does not solve any of my problems; quite contrary it creates new ones I would not have without it. I'm giving up porn so I can face the challenges in my live like a wise man and not like a coward.
I'm giving up porn because I love so many other things that demand my focus and that are more fun when I'm able to focus and porn interferes with them.

I'm giving up porn because I want to be clear. I want to be mindful and make good decisions. I do not want to be a puppet on a string to my emotions.

Every time I did it I felt a part of my soul had vanished. I could feel that fapping made me dumber. Besides, watching porn is a waste of time. I usually spent more than 3 hours per day watching porn--time otherwise could be spent on studying or other stuff. Porn overuse costed me my future.

I'm giving up porn because while I cannot change the beginning, I can make a whole new ending for my life. Everyday is a choice between the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. I want to be the man that chooses wisely between these. Thats why I'm giving up porn.

To me, giving up PMO means getting rid of a huge time sink, as well as regaining the confidence to talk to women like they're regular human beings, without any objectification.

I'm giving up porn, because life is awesome and I need focus in it to achieve my goals. I want to excel at what I do and that's why I'm giving up porn. I want to understand things and learn as much as possible. I'm giving up porn because I do not need this BS in my life.

I'm giving up porn, because overcoming my compulsions there will help me to overcome them elsewhere in my life. I need to stop binging media as a total and porn is a catalyst that facilitates the use of entertainment media by numbing myself down. I want to use my time well, as I only have a fixed amount of it in each day and in my life as a total. Porn is a waste of that time. That's why I'm giving up porn.

I'm giving up porn, because it is incapable of balancing myself, yet drains me of my energy that I need to do sports or other activities that actually balance myself. This leads to me being without energy and unbalanced at the same time. I'm giving up porn because it does not make me happy and being on porn leads to bad decisions.
