13 year old with questions - is PMO ok at my age? Too early to start nofap?

Hey guys. I am a 13 year old guy, who PMOs about once every 2 - 3 days, for about a year and a half. I feel really terrible about it, but everytime I relapse, I am determined to quit. I read some of the terrible side effects of PMO addiction, but on the other hand (bad pun sorry) people say masturbation is the most amazing thing ever, and should be done as much as possible. This that has inspired me to ask a few questions -

    1. Is it too early to start nofap at my age? Should I continue my current habits?

    2.
At my age, is it ok to PMO about once a week? Is that a healthy amount?

    3. Some people apparently PMO 2-3 times a day, watch plenty of porn, and claim to be living happy, healthy lives. They say that if you feel guilty about masturbation, you have a problem. Is it true? Is masturbation really ok?

    4. Why does masturbation affect some peoples mood/behavior/quality of life, and doesn't affect others?

Looking for some meaningful answers - thank you for reading this

    Welcome!

It's never too early to start doing what's good for you. Look around, you'll find a lot of people just like you. You can learn from them and from the rest of us.

Septimus is completely right. I would like to add a point: don't M just because it's "okay" or "usual" for kids your age to PMO, don't let that mentality of "oh well, Johnny next door beats his meat every five minutes and so do all my friends, guess it's okay" put you astray. Hueristically that mentality lead me to where I am now, 6 years after my first PMO (I was nine) and trying to quit after being addicted for 4 years. Don't follow the crowd, make your own path, you won't regret it. Goodluck mate. EDIT: oh and for addressing your second question, it is never healthy to have a vice. It's never good to have a dependency on PMO.

In college psychology I was taught that self stimulation was okay and healthy. Later we watched a film about sexual addiction and a line was never drawn between the two. After more than thirty years I can assure that it is not okay for everyone. Just like any other addiction you must know the warning signs and honestly address them or ask for help doing so. A lot of people drink alcohol. Some are alcoholics. A lot of people smoke pot. Some are addicts. A lot of people gamble. Some do so till all their money is gone. What your doing sounds normal to me. If you have a problem with it then it's a problem. If you spend fifteen to twenty hours a week doing it then it's a problem. I would talk to a trained counselor if you can find one. I honestly wish I was back at the three times a week stage. And my last thought is just keep in mind were not professionals here. We have a problem. You might. You might not (it sounds like you really don't) but never be afraid to seek help if you think you do.

It is not too soon to rid this from your life. There is nothing good, healthy or advantageous to watching pornography. It can seem otherwise, but whatever your level of frequency and choice of style, it will likely escalate. Even if you masturbated to porn only weekly, it warps your view of the opposite (and the same sex). The human body just becomes a receptacle for your penis. This is sexual objectification. This leads to a very shallow view of others that they are just objects, pieces of meat or an orifice!

are u kidding me, it's never too early to stop fapping, it's like a cocaine addict taking a few sniffs and asking other recovering cocaine addicts is it too early to quit and give cocaine up or should I become addicted more and ruin my life more!!!. if you are just getting into masturbating, give it up IMMEDIATELY before it developed into a real addiction. save urself early, u are the young blood that we should have been long time ago, we had no support then but u do now. Give it up whie ur brain is fresh.

I was right around your age when I started pmo. Over 15 years later it is by far my biggest regret that I became addicted.

Same as Davepl. If I could go back and change one thing it would be PMO addiction, so many wasted years. If you have the strength I'd recommend going for it now, it only gets more difficult the more addicted you get.

Hey, man. 13 is when I first "experimented". I was so scared after I did so, that I didn't do it again until a year later. Then, at 14, I began to do it regularly. Trying to stop, but would keep relapsing. As I turned 15, I became hooked. PMO controlled my life for a long time and it became hell. And once my OCD got the best of it, it became a cycle of obsessions and rituals. I'm 17 1/2 and I'm proud to say that I've been clean for 14 months ( hopefully I'll continue). I'd do anything to go back to your age to get PMO out of my life. It's never too early to quit, in fact I ENCOURAGE YOU to quit! Don't always do what other people around you are doing. These are dangerous addictive behaviors that were talking about here. You can do it, buddy. I have faith in you. Keep fighting!

Society is divided into two sections: People who fap and people who wre honestly trying not to.
    This place is the latter.
Wherever you ask that question, the answer is likely to be very biased, as there are no solidly proven impacts on health due to PMO.
If you ask me, i would say listen to yourself, your heart (yeah sounds rather cheesy, i know). The moment i started doing it, i knew it was not for me (PMO). There was always an element of shame, depression and guilt that followed a PMO and made my life rather miserable, from the very first time even though i knew that most of the people around me do that and it is nothing to be worried about too much.
It is you who must take an unbiased decision, irrespective of what the other people around you are doing.
i know some of my friends (high school) who actually admit doing it openly and yet are very successful.
There are people whose lives have been ruined because of this (me included) and there are people who are able to live on just as fine.
Whatever you do, just remember this is one of the only times when you can take a free choice (assuming you've started just now).
