I love it when a celebrity speaks out about porn, because people pay attention. It also helps people to understand that it's OK to talk about it. Billie Eilish says porn exposure while young caused nightmares.
Came here to post this too. Im not that familiar with Billie Eilish but its great that another public figure is talking about this. I cant think of another famous woman who has talked about the effects on women in this regard (rather than the indirect effect of warping the minds and penises of their boyfriends, not that that isn't an issue too). Watching porn from the age of 11 to cope with life is ridiculous, learning about sex from porn years before you actually have it is ridiculous too. And yet its all too common a story. There's people on this forum who started even earlier. What a fucked up culture we live in.
Bro that “thing” is as demonic as it gets. She is not helping anybody with her demonic ass music. “She” has already sold her soul to the devil.
That dude is so far off the woo woo science deep end he's got probably got healing crystals up his butt. Billie Eilish isn't a demon, but she is being used by the music industry/record label as a sex symbol. I'm not gonna lie, the thought of her being addicted to porn triggers me because......
She isn't, she is anti-porn and blames porn use as a child/teenager for ruining her expectations about sex, including warping what sort of thing she was supposed to be attracted to. And says it damaged her brain, etc. Sound familiar? I think it's pretty perceptive for a 19 year old to figure this kind of stuff out to be honest. Or maybe she is a fapstronaut (hi Billie!) The article doesn't actually mention addiction.
For someone who talks a lot about being based you don’t seem to know much about the mainstream music industry. Do you think she’s any different than Travis Scott?
Ahh.. there you go. Things aren’t always what they seem on the surface level now are they? I bet you weren’t the only one that got triggered by that.
Honestly I'm just surprised that there is an article about P by a mainstream media source that isn't complete horseshit.
Well, I rather enjoy Billie Eilish's music. But that is entirely beside the point. Whether you like her music or not, the point is that more and more people are talking about this, and it's important. For far too long, porn has been kept hidden through shame. I think that part of this comes from the fact that sex in general is kept as a hidden shameful thing in most of the word: Probably most countries that have an Abrahamic religion at its base. Some cultures don't surround sex with shame. I'll bet that they have far fewer problems relating to porn addiction and sexual insecurities.
Yeah I found this really inspiring. Look, say what you will about her style, music, or whatever. Personally I love her 007 track but that's all I really know about her. What is relevant and inspiring for me, is how she is bravely discussing how porn negatively affected her. She used to think it was cool, but it ended up giving her nightmares, bad sexual experiences, and I quote "destroyed my brain". It's no big secret that a lot of social issues only get real attention when a young woman talks about them. That's just life, and that's how it is. Society is more protective of young women and that's just nature I guess. What this translates to, though, is that a lot of people (young and old) are going to take this porn issue more seriously. It's not a religious spokesperson. Nor is it a far right conservative. It's a young new generation pop star with millions of followers! And those millions of young followers have parents, many of whom now realise that in 2021 it is not uncommon for an 11yo to watch hardcore porn without anyone realising it. Key takeaway: A lot of parents are going to see how bad it is, a lot of young people are going to relate, and a lot of women are going to feel they're not alone.
