I feel horrible. I'm over 100 days P free and I've been going through hell for the past month.

Depression, great desire to isolate from everyone, extreme loneliness, neediness, crippling jealousy, brain fog, severe anhedonia, no energy, no libido, no happiness, blurry vision, headaches, 0 motivation for anything whatsoever.

My life just seems meaningless, repetitive and dark. It seems like I'm currently living in a gray movie with no color. Just Lifeless and dull.

When did it get better for you guys? How can I speed this up?

Maybe you have an underlying depression issue and was using PMO to self medicate? If you feel this bad I would suggest talking to someone... I've been taking an antidepressant (escitalopram, a SSRI) and it's really helpful to me. I don't know if that's an option to you, I'm just guessing. It reduces the cravings and makes withdrawal easier to me. Also if I happen to relapse I don't feel too bad after and can get back on my feet easier. Of course, there are side effects, but that's something you have to ponder.

  3. I agree with this. I also suffer with depression (although not quite this severe). PMO was the drug of choice for years to numb the pain. Depressive episodes are very difficult in recovery because it really can feel like life is not worth living, but being addicted to porn is darker still. If you can't work through it yourself, I would also suggest talking to a therapist or someone you trust, but it can and will get better. Good luck!

  4. its symptoms of dopamine receptors desensitization. Desensitization is normal way of brain protecting itself from flood of dopamine addicted wave of hormones. As a result life have no colours and taste. You have to go through this, your brain need to rewire its neural pathways back to normal. Good restful sleep is half of success in recovery.

It will get worse before it will get better.

Your 'bear' is attacking you, be smart.

  6. My friend, I could literally copy and paste your thread and speak of my own experience. My experience is exactly the same and I dont know what to say or think about the situation. I don't have answers.

You can take the "tough-man-road" and just "meditate through the pain", but I'm just saying antidepressants can crush that ilogical chemical inbalance going in your brain. It's risky, but you can always rely on these "bullets".

One thing I noticed is that I feel very needy and jealous, which is another awful withdrawal symptom. Every time I see a really pretty girl I get attached to her quickly and every time I see a guy talking to a pretty girl I get really jealous and mad.

When I'm on a long streak, that disappears completely. believe it or not on my long streaks (over 60 days no pmo) I HATED the idea of relationships and women didn't matter to me one bit. It was like they were invisible to me, I just didn't care. I can't wait to get to that point again.

  10. Sorry to hear you're going through this. I'm going through it too. And I went through it 2019 when I first committed to this journey. I saw big improvements around the 4th-month mark – hang in there man. Also, seeing a therapist – taking as long as it takes to find one that you trust – is hugely valuable. So many of us turn to porn, alcohol, weed etc. to escape pain. So once we take away our coping mechanisms, some uncomfortable feelings can bubble up. I'm not saying this is happening to you, but it could be a part of it. And there's value in writing about how you feel, so when you do get past this – it's a solid reminder never to watch porn and go through these horrible symptoms again.

Porn absolutely floods our brain with an unnatural burst of dopamine, which really messes us up. It takes a few months for things to settle and feel "normal" again.
