So today I reached the magic 90.
I learned a lot about myself in those 90 days, about my strengths and weaknesses. I have seen improvement, but I want to make this a new life - not a three month gimmick.
So, if you are new to this, another 90 day fapstronaut, or have gone way beyond 90 days, I say: This is day 1.

Lets turn this clean day into two, then six, then hit a full clean week, then two, then a month, then another 3 months. Aim for the new year, and let our new year's resolution be: never go back.

Thanks for your support - both here and on other threads. It all helps.

Although 90 days IS a good thing, I don't want to boast as day 91 can be no easier than day 1. Having had PMO in our lives for so long, and with PMO never far away, we have to get real about how easy it is to return to it. We can set up programs to block websites etc., but at the end of the day we need to set up - or reassert - a code of conduct for ourselves. I found it easier to stay away from PMO if I considered it to be a distraction from my goal. In other words, 'saying no to PMO' wasn't my goal. I found that I could say No to PMO, if PMO was some sort of distraction or wrong turning from my goal.

Additionally, I found that having a goal wasn't enough. I've mentioned on other threads that setting a goal could lead to the day when the goal was achieved and ... then what? Some say that three months of NoFap would clean the mind and everything would become 'normal'. But what is 'normal' to a person who has had PMO in their life every day for a long time? Basically, I had to swap having a goal for having a lifestyle in which PMO simply didn't figure.

So: Think of the person you'd like to be. Maybe you speak a few languges? Maybe you play an instrument? Do you see yourself in the gym, on the track? Or do you see yourself travelling in another part of your country, or in another country entirely? What are you doing when you see this version of yourself? How do you look? Whatever image comes to mind, PMO probably doesn't figure in it.

This is why I am stating that after 90 days, there cannot be a relapse. It's not a case of bitterly, willfully fighting temptation. It's a case of continuing on the way to a better life. Every urge is a sideroad leading off this path. Why would I take it? It won't get me to where I want to go.

So, here we go again. From now until New Year's Day. Let's continue turning ourselves into the people we want to be, and let PMO die of neglect in the process.
