Is "Gooning" a new thing or has it been around?

Yeah it’s a thing, it’s been around at least a couple years. I’ve seen guys come in here after gooning for a while.
Instead of trying to find out what’s wrong in their lives, they’re trying to numb the pain even more. Instead of fixating on a more intense high and escalating into fetishes, though, they aim for that hypnotic state of click, click, click, always edge, never O. I couldn’t say what’s more harmful, you know, it’s like stringing out your heroine dose instead of mainlining it all at once.

Basically these guys have become incredibly desensitized to porn and are now desperately trying to recreate the dopamine rush that is no longer accessible to them.

Pretty much, they also put together "gooning videos" which have lots of random porn scenes flashing on the screen one after the other to try to overstimulate themselves.

Yes, but is more about the self-pity, and accepting you are an irremediable fuck up, and that the best you can do it's to embrace your own degeneracy.

Kind of, but speaking more broadly it is about turning one's failure into something which you "enjoy", so that the failure isn't a failure anymore. It's kinda lying saying "I didn't want it in the first place" after finding out you can't have something; then you make a 180° turn and go into the opposite direction.

 

That is a good post that explains alot about where that type of sick content comes from. I have only watched a few minutes of it in the past and then stopped immediately, as I could see how incredibly harmful it is, that is gooning/hypno porn. That type of content should be fully illegal; and in Canada at least, conversion therapy is illegal, and that is what this is.

When I saw that type of content in the past, I really didn't think that anyone would actually watch it in its entirety. But after reading about people here on this forum who have actually got into it and in some cases watched it for years, I can only imagine the damage that it would do to the viewers mind. In short, to anyone reading this thread, don't research it and never watch it, ever. If you stumble across it don't click on it, and if keeps getting recommended to you, maybe because you're watched it in the past, delete the account(hopefully permanently).

Also, most platforms have the ability to report abusive/illegal content. Take the time to report this weaponized life destroying content so that hopefully it will be taken down. Conversion therapy is illegal in many countries, so report it on that basis.

I've had an "edging" addiction - I get that part of it, because it's stringing out pleasure for even longer. When you realize that stringing out the pleasure for longer is severely reducing your quality of life, you have a natural tendency to fight back against it. What the "gooners" do is intentionally push back against this pushback; they make a counter-reaction to our instinct for self-preservation.

I've never gotten into that, but I can see how embracing addiction is easier than fighting it. Saying "I'm worthless anyway, might as well go with the inertia" is a way to abdicate further responsibility. You declare the fight over and yourself the defeated, therefore you don't have to go to battle ever again. Again, this is spiritual suicide. I have avoided this. I hope everyone else here can too.

 

I've been into a ton of different twisted fetishes but the whole gooning things has been my main focus the past year or 2 and let me say that it feels like the worst and most debilitating of all of them. It genuinely fucks me over and encourages binges and being turned on by the fact that you have no self control. It is the one category of porn I would stay far far away from.
