Hello everyone, hope you're all doing good & i am no longer addicted to porn, do not feel the need/urge to even watch it. It's been 29/30 days that i have not watched porn. One of the main reasons of me quitting it was because I got ED from porn. I am pretty positive it is porn-induced as i am healthy, i exercise and eat well.( And problems arised mainly when i started consuming tons of porn). Now am 19 yrs old and you people must already know that in my social age groups, there are videos always circulating here and there.

Ques (1): So does seeing any of those videos affect the reboot ?

Ques (2): I masturbated very little but did not cum. Now does that too have an affect on the reboot as well?
(Am asking because sometimes while masturbating using imagination only, i tend to think of my sexual orientations/preferences in porn. Or may even imagine living the scenario.)

Also just for context, I started watching porn at maybe 15/17.. i don't even remember and i was not consuming a lot until the last 2 years. Then made the decision to quit and here we are. Was not aware that porn was bad at the time since society seems to promote it somehow..

    Thanks for help =)

  2. Hi, hope you are well.

In regard to your first question, if you are trying to quit porn - viewing any pornographic material would affect your reboot. Rebooting is about healing your brain and it's wiring, and watching pornographic material certainly does not help you to heal, even if you are not masturbating to said porn. I'm not quite sure what you mean by videos circulating here and there in your age group. Are people in your age group producing pornography and sending it to you? Or are people in your age group sending pornographic material in general to one another? Whatever the case, it might be best to consider your relationships with people who share pornographic material with you, in light of your desire to quit porn and reboot. Even if you are no longer addicted to porn, as you said, viewing it is still going to have a averse affect on your brain and neurochemicals/hormones/etc.

    2) in terms of masturbation, I think that is up to you and your goals. If you are trying to avoid porn only, then masturbating isn't a problem. Everyone is different. I choose not to masturbate, as I am a compulsive person and cannot give potentially addictive behavior a foothold in my life. If you find yourself masturbating to fantasies about porn, that may be problematic, and could lead to ED problems - as real life sexual intercourse is often not the same as what is acted out in porn. Some women have hairy ass cracks (sorry to be vulgar) - have you ever seen a hairy ass on a porn star? The expectation vs. reality becomes problematic when fantasizing or watching porn. A lot of girls are not shaped or built or look like porn stars, and certainly do not perform sexual acts like porn stars do. If you are fantasizing about sexual experiences you've had personally, well shit, who am I to stop you or say that's bad for you? They are your experiences. No one is going to tell me to stop fantasizing about scoring a game-winning touchdown in my younger days, arguing that doing so is bad for me because it's not where I'm at today - or because it provides me feel good emotions to wax nostalgic. Hope this helps.

Ohh alright @pratice_squad_superstar. Thanks man, it is indeed helpful.

Though does anyone have an idea on the amount of time ED takes to cure ?

By the way @practice_squad_superstar, the videos are both the categories you mentioned. But the ones are categorised as"porn", are more videos of local people going stupid sexual acts.

How much do you think those affected my reboot ? (Am on 30 days today)

  5. Ah, I see. Thank you for clarifying. There is no way of telling how much it affected your reboot - you can probably answer better than I can. How do you feel? Are you lethargic, bored, listless, restless, irritable, discontent? Or do you feel good, relatively happy, like you are in a decent spot right now? I think if you watched those videos - and you did not continue to watch compulsively, or fall down the porn rabbit hole, I would say you are in a good position - and your reboot hasn't been affected negatively. We are all going to slip up and find ourselves in the midst of watching something we should not, either wittingly or unwittingly. The real test is what we do during and after we are in that position. It sounds like you are doing well, so I would not worry too much about your reboot being impacted negatively.
