Hi, The only source that leads to my relapse is really the laptop. I have installed blockers that are good and reliable but I have a program that I need for work that has a built-in browser. So that has been the reason for my failing recently. Because the rules of the PC (that blocker software imposes) are simply non existent in this program on my PC that is irreplaceable. So I'm thinking the only solution is to install software/make changes on the network level. What about openDNS? That would theoretically work but I'm hesitant bc of privacy reasons here. Is there any other way/software to impose let's say safe search function etc. on the network level? So that these rules apply not only on the host device (PC) but also on built in browsers (think of virtual devices on the PC).
it can't be done on the network level, because any device can just get a VPN to bypass it which is extremely easy to install
Oh boy, I hope that program isn't keeping logs of your activities then. You can try opendns, cleanbrowsing or "cloudflare for families" for DNS level filtering. I'm not sure how well that would transfer to a virtual machine though.
Oh it's just an app that I need to learn something to do my job better basically, so not directly related to it. I installed openDNS a couple days ago, I hope it works well. Just that it doesn't block vpn sites is a bummer.
