most of my friends are casual dopamin enjoyers, they eat junk food, play lots of video games, watch anime and fap alot and it seemed like they are calmer and more relaxed than me, which i dont play games any more, i try to NoFap very often, dont eat junk food. and im more tense, more anxious, why is that? im supposed to feel even better and more focused but im lacking focus
It's like taking the red pill is also being very aware of your suffering, which can be tough at times... Sometimes you wonder if you should have just taken the blue pill
Maybe they are not addict like we so thats why it don't affect them so much that was ehat I was saying. We over use it. Yeah maybe sometimes haha but no. Ignorance is not bliss.
You feel more tense and anxious because the junk food, videos games and other high dopamine activities are a substitute for something else that is missing in your life. Example, I recently realised that I hate my job. It’s demanding, it’s repetitive and most of I don’t feel fulfilled. As a result, I come home and eat junk food, play video games and zone out on Netflix. The underlying issue (or wound) is the lack of enjoyment and fulfilment from my work. That is the issue that I need to fix. The playing of video games and eating of junk food is simply soothing the underlying wound. Rebooting is not easy and now would be the worse time to starve yourself of all dopamine activities (imo). My advice? Drip feed yourself high dopamine activities. Moderate the activities and try not to overdo them while taking the time to discover what the underlying issue is for you.
maybe being tense and anxious = ready hunter, while being calm 24\7 = lazy peasant I dont even believe in evolutionary psychology...just giving an humorous insight. but dont compare yourself to others. Each person is full of dealing with himself, why add more worries over others's minds!
