A quick search showed that not much was on NoFap regarding erotic hypnosis/orgasm hypnosis. I just thought I'd give you guys my perspective on trying it after nearing a 24 day streak (having quit cold turkey for the first time in Feb).

So why try hypnosis? Partially it was curiousity - it genuinely seemed kind of interesting but really it's because I've been having very strong urges recently to MO and so my brain went and rationalised to think that if I eliminate the M than surely attaining an O through hypnosis can't be any different to a wet dream (which I have not had in years).

Well after trying nearly 3 times in one day (got interrupted twice) and wanting to do it later this evening I realised HOW DAMAGING it currently is for me. Maybe many of you know that mainstream internet videos trying to induce orgasm are negative but the naïve me didn't realise that and I didn't find much advice against it.

Note - this has nothing to do with tantra or meditation concerning spirituality/eroticism etc. I even think that such hypnosis can be an interesting experience after re-wiring, however not during the first 30 or 90 days of NoFap.

Anyways, the particular clip I used was probably one of the most common,
    Isabella Valentines Jackpot video
. Well whilst [TRIGGER WARNING] it's effective in attaining heavy arousal and definitely has the potential to cause climax/orgasm I realised after my episode of rationalising how negative it was for me.

The beginning of the clip focuses on achieving trance and is in fact quite relaxing and positive. Later on during the arousal section however I was being asked to call on past sexual experience and fantasies - which initially felt quite good as I would focus on moments I felt were beautiful/romantic. But soon this turned towards objectification and imagination of more intense scenes that were unrealistic and similar to my fantasies when exposed to porn as I found myself frantically trying to reach some higher form of arousal that would let me finally have that orgasm.

Maybe I did it wrong, maybe I should not have fantasised to that extent and my rut between fantasising and porn is still too strong - but the clip definitely did not discourage me from taking paths of fantasising. It seemed to me the main goal of many of these clips is for you to reach climax, NOT to attain some greater understanding of your erotic side. Hence in my eyes it is a form of P and whilst thankfully I did not O I personally would not recommend it to anyone between days 0-24 and possibly beyond as for me it went against my goal of not objectifying women.

Some other things to note, I feel a bit cloudy/drained after and felt very tempted to fap as a didn't climax. Whilst the trance was restful I felt less motivated than ever.

FINALLY - hypnosis is serious stuff and many of these people are trying to cash into the idea of sex hypnosis, some people report subliminal messaging/marketing in some of
    Isabella Valentine'
    s. Not only that but there are also quite a lot of domination themed videos, and
    Isabella Valentine
's dominatrix personality/interests shone through in parts of the clip, which is something that should be noted.

I define porn as anything made to sexually arouse especially if the ultimate goal is orgasm. So erotic hypnosis would meet that criteria. Just make sure you know exactly what pmo is to you.

Thanks for sharing. I regrettably have a lot of experience with this and it did a lot of damage. As mentioned, I'm referring to erotic hypnosis whose purpose is stimulation for PMO, and not traditional hypnosis with purpose of healing, connection or higher consciousness.

Much of what is out there is simply porn as hypnosis role play. It is one of the worst ways to PMO because it creates a relaxed and focused state with a constant and rapid dopamine trigger through words or visuals.

Even if you are someone who can't be easily hypnotized, you are putting yourself in a classic PMO zone out. It doesn't matter if it's real or fake, it's porn that encourages you to relax your inhibitions.

Much of the content uses suggestions that you are helpless and addicted. This reinforces the mindset that you can't stop PMO. This can become part of the fix and is a repeating thought that undermines recovery.

Finally, much of this content tends to intentionally stretch your fantasy boundaries, often making forbidden stuff sound very enticing and encouraging you. Much of this is created with the specific intention of getting you hooked more and more. It's a lesser known but very toxic type of porn and I've had huge difficulty getting out of it.

I used to listen to a LOT of those mp3s and I really got into it. Even though they helped me achieve a hands-free orgasm, I still consider it porn and masturbation, so I'm abstaining from this too.

    EDIT:

I feel I should add more here, in the spirit of full disclosure.

These erotic hypnosis files are a HUGE issue with me, actually more so than visual porn. I was tempted to post about it earlier, but I'm having more trouble with this than anything else. I haven't yet been able to delete all the erotic hypnosis files I have, I deleted my normal porn and I avoid all the sites I used to watch videos on, but I just can't seem to give up these files. I haven't been listening to them since I started nofap, but they really seem to have a hold on me.

To me, they were a lot better than standard porn, I could immerse myself fully into whatever fantasy the woman speaking wanted to create. I won't mention any names because that may trigger someone here to go looking for them, but my god, these were intense. My heart is really pounding just thinking about them and I'm starting to sweat. I'm thinking that because I was able to immerse myself so completely and literally lose track of everything else in the world while listening, maybe they created more of a dopamine surge for me than regular porn?

I'm not really sure of the science behind these recordings, but if you haven't listened to them and you're serious about nofap, then PLEASE avoid them because it'll make this 1000x more difficult.

*Sigh* I need to exercise to work out this tension now, maybe later I'll be able to finally wipe these files from my HD and the two external drives I have them backed up on...

I reported the post by hypnodude. I really got into erotic hypnosis, even the "good" kind of hypnosis hypno dude is espousing. I hope his post gets taken down by a moderator. The stuff is seriously addictive. For me, it was much worse than typical porn.

The stuff IS fictional non-real life media that is supposed to make you orgasm. It all has the same effects regular porn. I admit that a very small percentage of this stuff could be healthy if used the correct way, or maybe via a professional, but, the noFap forums are not the place to post links to this. If you are interested in hypnosis as a way to tackle your addiction, I recommend finding a professional in your area.

Around last week i registered on nofap and I started my 90 day challenge but around the 3rd or 4th day I had to restart due to erotic hypnosis. I was on YouTube and that's where I saw it, I tried it around 3 times on the same day but on the 3rd try I wanted to reach the full O so I went to porn. It wasn't until now that I realized that there are people here who know about erotic hypnosis. I'm really glad I ran into this thread and thanks for posting about erotic hypnosis.

  8. Erotic hypnosis is probably my second biggest fetish. I feel very much the same way as Johnny above; haven't listened to it for quite a while, for like 5 months or something, 4 of which I've been doing reboot and stuff. But still can't get myself to delete those files on my PC. I am 100% certain I want to quit all the other types of porn forever, but erotic audio? I don't know...

I am still not sure if there are healthy levels of porn possible. Some people would say it's all evil and there is no such thing as healthy moderation, I'm still not so sure about that. If it doesn't effect you negatively and you can keep it in control then why not? I've yet to find out whether I can even do it though. I am not consuming this stuff for the time being of my reboot and not planning to do it for a while. But forever? I don't know...

Also, I don't really put it in the same category as generic porn either. I think if done correctly, skillfully and with good taste it can be almost like an art. Erotic in nature does not always mean destructive. Cheap whiskey can be consumed to get drunk fast, or good quality whiskey can be enjoyed slowly. This is how I feel about some forms of erotica. Some of those erotic hypnosis recordings are done in really straight forward, distasteful way to quickly get you bust a nut. Like a cheap porn. But I have listened to some that was very high quality stuff and done in very tasteful way.

My addict's brain might just rationalizing this, I'm very well aware of that. Yet I can't just dismiss it all either...
