So, about two weeks ago, I made decision that I was going to give lifting weights a break, and cease to take any more cold showers... big mistake!

They may not seem like that big of a deal, but working out was a big distraction when I first began this streak. And, cold showers help me get rest at night.

After I neglected my normal routine, I was not able to sleep. I had so much energy bundled up inside. My body wanted to find a release somehow, so the idea of PMO became more friendly. I would toss and turn, losing hours and hours of sleep. My hyperactive brain - racing, and binging on fantasies of the women I know in my life and past sexual experiences with them.

Last night, I crossed the boundaries way too far. I admit, I may have viewed some triggering material, but I'll give myself a break this time. I understand the mistake I made, so I won't reset my counter. Instead I decided it was time to return to my normal routine.

This morning I did some deadlifts, calf raises, and dumbbell leg curls. I just did enough to see how much I could do before getting tired. Tomorrow, I will do 4-5 cycles of these to get back into it. Also, before a meeting I had, I took a half hot, half cold shower.

Felt good to get back into my routine! No more fantasizing, no restlessness. I really feel like I could knock out. I feel great already!

So, the moral of the story is, if you are abstaining from PMO, and have a damn good streak, don't change anything too drastically!!!

im curious as to what you mean exactly by "may have viewed some triggering material" what was the triggering material and how long did you view it?

Constant vigilance! The body knows when it's out of balance, and it's worth it to try and keep it in gear. Great job not surrendering though, and good job with the self-awareness to pick out what was causing the temptation.

Well done Mister Squeaky. Remember, that you will get some dopamine from enjoyable daily activities. In a way, that is what you lost temporarily. As a result, the body became desperate for dopamine and the brain returned to the quickest and biggest way to get some. So, suck the marrow out of life and transmute your energy saved from masturbation and porn and use it up in pleasurable exercises: biking, fishing, working out and eating. What's not to like buddy, haha! :D

Triggering material, such as looking at the thumbnails of sexy youtube videos, while not actually watching them. The main problem was fantasizing. Something I have not done all day after my workout yesterday, and a good nights rest!

    Thanks @IGY!

Yes, I am going fishing with some friends on Saturday, and I will also go to the beach with a friend on Tuesday! I am going to lift some weights tonight, just thought I'd stop by the forum before doing so.

    Thanks,

    ~SS

The one thing holding me back from watching those YouTube videos were thinking about all of my accomplishments during this steak.

Very impressed by your ability to maintain a routine. As a student I think that would be extremely beneficial for me as I have a tendency to get burnt out a lot with my studies. Then the stress and anxiety lead to relapse. I want to have a better daily routine, I just don't know how to start!

I know that a lot of the younger fapstronauts could benefit from physical activity like I do.

I can focus my extra energy on my workouts without burning myself out too much, I get great sleep, my wet dreams have started to come back, and my urges are not as strong/more easily manageable.

Hmmm... getting into a routine can be hard, especially with a lot of homework. Do what I do: Try hard, but don't do anymore than I have to do for that moment, pace yourself, take breaks when you need to, and make time for your favorite activities.

hi vishal, as you said the stress leads to PMO. Now ad you can see stress is the trigger to PMO. you cant prevent stress but you can make it a trigger for exercise. my advice is make a habit of daily exercise, healthy eating and sleeping. Make this your goal and i'm sure its gonnna help heaps. when you feeling overwhelmed by stress, get out of the house, talk to a friend or do sm exercise. great way to relieve stress
