Is it true?

So basically ive been meaning to ask one question to all the fapstraunauts out there who have trully succeeded their ways to no fapping to porn for months (or maybe years).

Ok. So the question is: Is it true that when you quit porn for good your looks/appearances have improved a lot that people (esp your friends n family) start to notice the difference?

These questions have been tingling inside my brain cause it gives me the curiosity to know if you happen to have that kind of experience in your life. Maybe your looks can be rather appealing to others if you manage to quit porn for good. I kinda read from other people who have this sort of benefit so i kinda think that maybe it sort of happens to people.

    That's just my thought...

No, my appearance is worse. I have lost quite a bit of hair over the last year (most of which I was free of masturbating to pornography). My skin isn't right. Red blotches seem to come and go and it has become flaky and dry. I look much older! Everybody that knows me, thinks I look ill. So, don't be taken in by the claims of superpowers. It is a fallacy to be fair. :(

Yeah the superpowers thing is bollocks. It was just used by Alex to get attracted to the idea he was promoting when he started this a few years ago. It has no basis in science. There is probably a placebo effect from doing something positive. But I have never been susceptible to the placebo effect. It is better to face this challenge with reality in my humble opinion.

It will maybe make people notice you more because of your increasing self confidence, but I don't think that quitting porn makes you more handsome.. xD

So if their are no benefits why do it?

No. I wasn't meant to say you look more handsome if you quit porn. That's ridiculous. Lol XD

I'm just saying that maybe if you don't happen to deal with this porn problem in your life anymore people will start to notice you differently. Maybe girls find you attractive because you are particularly that guy who quits watching porn and masturbation. I'm just saying...

I can't speak for anyone else, so in my case:
I have never been handsome to begin with, so I never lost any exterior appearance due to PMO. But what I can say it changes is that I don't look so obviously anxious when in front of people, nor do I drag my steps when walking on the street. And the bags below my eyes don't look so big.

The acne, and the 100+ moles on my skin still remain with me. The muffin top, love handles and the lack of muscle are all there as well. No hopes for any of those to go :(

So, @Haniff_Khalid, you might want to give photoshop another chance

Yea true. Ive never been handsome as well because ive got one big nose and when people start to stare at me i get shy cause i dont know if they are looking at someone else or my nose. But i love my nose anyway cause its God's gift. Also i have a girlfriend who doesnt mind about my big nose so i guess its alright.

But the important thing is our self confidence. Our self confidence is the thing that can normally show people who we are as an individual. Self confidence plays a big role in every aspect of our lives.

I've quit for about 2 months now (don't let the counter fool you) and I can say that it has done nothing for me in terms of appearance, I recall reading somewhere that the dark spots underneath your eyes would disappear if you quit PMO and I was kind of hoping for that at least, but even that hasn't happened.

porn mainly effects your mind, it has almost nothing to do with your body.

So i guess its not true what people say... but congrats on the 2 months of quitting pmo. You deserved it. :)

  11. OK, I had to come back to this one. Yeah, the superpower thing is a lot of hype. However we know this no pmo creates LOTS of confidence in people. Confidence makes you take care of yourself, your going to look better. What a lot of people call good looking is actually a normal person who believes in themselves, and shows it....
With that said, I had a 80 some day run. In that time my hair got a lot thicker, (my barber and others commented on it.) Also skin improvements (esp wrinkles), and though bags under eyes didn't disappear, the skin is thicker/lighter. Skin and hair is affected by stress hormones; pmo, for me anyways, was a huge stressor. So, yes there changes, just not huge ones.

quitting pmo isnt easy. so when you do it for say 30 or 60 days you feel proud of yourself, like you've achieved something. it makes you think you're not weak.

also for quitting pmo many replace the pmo time with other stuff like meditating, reading, going to gym...these habits influence your body positively.

Hi Low. Sorry I wasn't clear. There are huge benefits from not being addicted to masturbation and/or pornography. I was talking about the alleged "superpowers". Things like, no longer being shy, having better skin, getting a lower voice etc.

  14. Maybe everybody is different. I do believe strongly that as men our life force and energy is in the semen, and this is also explained in depth by those in Eastern Asia and it has been taught for centuries. Some call this stuff all pseudo science, but you have to understand that we ARE energy.
We feel like shit after masturbation because loss of semen (in form of masturbation, self indulgence) is like spiritual death. You feel good after making love to a woman you love because you are literally mixing and sharing each others energy.

We are not just mere body, we are an energy substance as well. Actual light is found in our DNA too. The whole universe is constructed through energy systems.

How you utilise this saved up 'energy' from the semen is up to each individual, but lets not get carried away and start saying that these 'super powers' are false. If YOU are not experiencing them, does not mean other people are not. It's all about cultivation. Each individual taps into their own energy differently and understands their bodies differently from others. You have to learn to use this energy and be in touch with it.

Why is it that after I masturbate I feel like my creativity levels and even my intellectual capabilities drop? My ability and fluency to speak knowledge and understand things drops dramatically. Other people have spoken of such things too. All of this is somewhat still a mystery that I am trying to fully understand, but I can assure you, NONE of this is placebo. Clarity and and all sorts of doors open up when I save my semen. It is not just the confidence. Many other things take place when I begin to engage on this journey properly. Too many people say the same thing for this to just be coincidence or placebo.
As far as I know, no one is trying to exaggerate nofap. We only report on what we experience.

When I save my semen and I'm on a good streak, I can go on 4 hours sleep and feel like I've had 10. I could go on and on about all of the other things that occur, and I hate to make this sound all "mystical", but the benefits of this thing is real. Whether everyone gets to feel or experience the benefits is not my problem. I can only go by what I experience and everything that others report I have experienced the same benefits as well and continue to.

Well I started M when I was 12 at that time i had lots of friends and a social life one year later i got extremely shy and had no ambition to have a social life because of how nervous i got around people its a weird feeling i get when im around people like a scared nervous feeling i cant really describe it, i thought that it was because i was a teen and i was going though changes and thats just how I am then about 6 months ago the doctor put me on this med that made me have really bad anxiety attacks i guess it was the side effect of the med so i tried looking for solutions because at the time i did not know it was the med doing it to me. I started this to try and help and found out that this helps me be less nervous around people after 2 weeks of nofap i was very surprised that it had any correlation with my nervousness around people I started looking up a reason to why this was happening and some people believe its a dopamine desensitization but im not 100 % sure that's the reason i really dont care if there are not any "scientific evidence" behind it i know how it affected me everything felt more enjoyable and i was less nervous around people at 14 days i really don't care if its placebo effect or if its really physically affecting me it still helped me in some way. Also after I do fail, EVERYTHING that I was doing like my diet and working out i say f*** it and i dont work out that day and i cheat on my diet im not sure why this is but it happens. Anyways if their really are no benefits like i listed above then what is wrong with pmo in moderation why are all of these people reporting around the same benefits on this site? The another benefit a experience is that after i M im really bad at call of duty but when im on 7 days I have 30+ killstreaks almost every game i play and im more focused my shots are dead on every time my reflexes are great but when I M i lose all that i know you might think that its a stupid or odd benefit but i know for a fact that, that benefit is real its not just a placebo effect i cant just think "hey im going to get a 30 kill streak this game" and do it, it don't work like that. Another benefit or weird thing that happens to me is i dream more like after day 3 i have dreams everyday after that i think we dream every night its just that we dont remember them and that would explain why i stopped dreaming since i was 13. Well those are all the benefits that i have received from this now im going for 30 days to see if there is any increase from the benefits from 14 days.

  16. Yep, happens to me as well with gaming too. All that happens is that your focus, thought patterns and precision becomes more accurate. This also spills over into other areas of your life as well. This is why I (and many others) say that loss of semen causes some type of spiritual death, little by little. Think of semen as like fuel. If a car doesn't have fuel, it cannot function at top condition, if not at all. Some philosophers refer to semen as being your oil, that runs down through your body giving it nourishment.
It is also the same reason why a lot of musicians before touring wont release any semen for 7 weeks, and why boxers and athletes abstain from sex or masturbation before performing, because they understand that the life force is totally in the semen. To a lot of people, this is actually just common knowledge and second nature. If it works, and a number of people are proving this in their everyday lives, including professionals, then in a sense, it already is "scientific". It is happening, and people are practising semen retention.

People just want to remain in denial and refuse to believe that something like this is so easy.

you say its so easy how do you resist the urges without giving into them i would love to not do it again its just that i give in at day 7 or 14 is usually when i mess up and the thought of "their is no way i could ever go forever without doing it again this is pointless your going to break at some point so why not now" and then a relapse and instantly feel the bad effects i regret it, im in that cycle do you got any advice on that?

  18. When I say easy bro, I don't mean that the process is easy itself. The concept of semen retention (NoFap) is simple, but not easy. The know how is easy. All we have to do is not masturbate, not touch or genitals. Sounds simple enough, but not easy.

My longest streak was 7 months, so hopefully I'll be able to give you some advice here and there. I'm not on a long streak right now, but I'm dead serious about this and even now I can feel the benefits already and don't plan on going back another step. I'm 27, next year I'm 28. I know that if I don't stop fapping now, I never will.

What's helping me right now is knowing that a new year is coming up and wanting to do things differently. Secondly, I'm genuinely sick and tired of the same shit. Something needs to change. I really think that people who go on really long streaks get to a breaking point, and become genuinely sick and tired of the way things are. You have to get to that point too. You have to start hating the thought of sitting there M'ng and watching P.

Yep, I've had those same thoughts too my brother "how am I going to be able to do this forever?" Etc... That's the thing, you have to conquer those thoughts. We have to man up, and change our thought patterns altogether. We have to start seeing sex as a secondary thing. We've been conditioned by society as men to place sex as top priority. Society and the media projects all of these fear based emotions at us such as "If you don't have sex you're a loser". We need to get over that and rise above that bull shit. I'm re conditioning my mind bro, from all the shit I've been taught in movies growing up and from my environment.
All of this push we have towards PMO it's ALL emotional and we just need to let ourselves work through the emotions which push us to want to use PMO as a means of escape in the first place. As men, we have emotions and pain of being rejected by women that we need to feel and release. We need to actually grieve through these emotions. Unreleased sadness causes many of us men to look at PMO as an escape. This is all psychological as well. Very much so.

We need to stop believing that if we don't have sex every week then we are not real men. If you really want to do this bro and are dead serious about this, then we need to put NoFap above sex and above the feeling of orgasm. Be willing to even never have sex if that is what it came to. It is the only way to conquer those thoughts "how long am I going to be able to do this?" You will have a woman one day and you'll be happy, and she'll love you and you'll love her, but you have to believe that, until then, move on and be prepared to be single for as long as whatever is necessary. We have to start seeing women as secondary for a long time if we want to put PMO behind us.

Bro, I get scared when I see people having been on 200 day streaks and then they relapse. It makes me think, maybe the same will happen to me. You have to let these things scare you and make a promise to yourself that you will never relapse after such long streaks. Reading posts like that scares me in a good way and gives me a slap across the face to wake the fuck up. If people can still relapse after 100+ day streaks, then it shows how serious in advance we really need to be. We need to completely and utterly take our minds off of females altogether. Don't even think about them or fantasize any more bro. We have to change. I want to be that guy who has 1000 days on his counter and then I can be an even greater example to others, and I will be that guy. I'm willing to give up sex for good if I have to man. I don't care any more. I'm totally reconditioning my brain.

It is generally sadness and stress which makes me usually want to PMO. The key is to catch the emotion in it's tracks. Catch the triggering emotion right there and then. This is VERY important. Write it down. Write down what triggers you to want to PMO. For me, it's when I'm stressed, and sometimes begin to think about the future etc... Being single and not having a woman at the moment can cause sadness, and sometimes for a fleeting second I think "what's the point of this all?" These are the emotions I am looking out for and it always helps me. Now I just say to myself "nope, you're not going there." Then, I am able to quickly bring myself back to reality and work through the emotion and feel it instead of using PMO to run from my emotions.

I know this was long, but I care about you and all the men here and want to help from my experiences on this journey.
If you have any more questions, please ask. Anyway, I'm off to bed now! Talk in a bit.

  19. Yes this is definitely true for me I am way more confident comfortable and free around women and they definitely react differently to this. But I think it is more than just no PMO. I think you can abstain from PMO and still be an objectifying misogynist. But definitely doing all the things I had to to finally quit PMO has made a huge difference in my attitude and in my experience women react way more to your confidence attitude and demeanor than to your physical appearance.

Yes all that superpowers that nofappers says are real. There are more than 1000 of people having the same benefit from not fapping. But remember you won't get that superpowers from a 30 or 60 days small streak. You have to aim for much longer streak like 6 months or 1 year. My best streak was of 180 days and I can say you that at that time I experienced all that superpowers but unfortunately I relapsed and all the powers diminished. The benefits I had experienced where internally like increase confidence, no anxiety, no depression, increased memory, increased creativity etc etc and externally like face looks beautiful, eyes looks beautiful, no shaky hand, increased voice etc etc. So my suggestion is go for some long streaks if u wanna see some nofap magic.
