Nudity or Sex Scenes in Movies?

Personally, I have a rule regarding P that if I actively seek out any artificially stimulating material or if I accidentally find any artificially stimulating material (even the most mild), and fail to click off/ away from it as soon as possible, then I classify that as a relapse.
I would avoid sex/ nudity scenes in movies if possible, as anything that gets the dopamine buzzing in your head is enough to cause a relapse.

 

The answer to that is the same as it is to the alcoholic who chugs cough syrup while in 'recovery'. If you recognize that the predicament you are in is centered in you, and not in porn, the answer is easy. If you operate under some notion that porn is the problem that you are a victim of, rather than your practices involving porn being what victimizes you, you will likely have a very hard time getting control.

I agree--you should be able to watch those movies. On the other hand, you should be able to watch porn as well, and you can't.

 

I believe in what the others told before me. Indeed, porn is neutral on its own. It's the use and abuse of it that caused us get into this predicament. Like any addiction, really. You have to learn how to stay away from it, and for life.

On the other hand, sex and nudity are natural reoccurring things in life. So, for me, for as long as you don't watch those movies for the nude content, but for other, intellectual reasons (good acting, interesting plots) they should be ok. If you're choosing to watch them for the dopamine rush... well, it's a relapse.

 

The way I see it, the point of NoFap is not to "see no nudity at all".
That's the same as saying "I am a slave to depictions of nudity and if I see one, I will lose control".

There are arousing pics everywhere, in ads and commercials all over the place.

The whole point, as other also mentioned, is: Am I seeking it out and/or lingering on it, in order to achieve a stimulation? Because then it is unhealthy.

Movies with erotic scenes - I wouldn't worry about that. Not to a point of staying away from normal movies.
Except of course if you are at a vulnerable spot in your withdrawal and it gives you trouble. (Such as urges that stay with you afterwards and brings your progress in danger).

Of course, if you just "happen" to choose to watch Russ Meyer movies all the time and tell yourself that "it's for the plot or for the nostalgic experience, not for the tits" then you should review your decision.

 

I think it depends on how can you manage triggers, if you are confident that you will not fall for the bait and go crazy then you can do it, but i dont think its good to expose ourselves to triggers on the early stages of our recoveries/reboots.

i remember watching a youtube vid a while ago, cant remember the name, well it was about triggers and how can you catch yourself before its too late bacause the escalation of the stimulus you need will go right up where you left it, and fast.

 

My whole pmo addiction was from the nude scenes in movies. I would download those scenes and ***
