I am going for the HM challenge...do you guys think that if I have a wet dream then I should reset my counter? It has happened I feel like I am cheating myself. Like I have disrupted the energy build up that comes from HM. Think I may reset my counter.
Do you feel different after a wet dream? What change is there if any? If it's out of your control then I don't see the point.
Well, your counter does specify that you reset it when you intentionally watch P, so I would say don't reset it. However, you say you fell like you cheated so it depends: do you think that not resetting your counter could lead you to relapse because you would think that if you have cheated once, you would allow yourself to cheat again because the counter has lost its meaning? If so, reset it. One other thing to consider is how resetting would make you feel: would it feel like such a failure that you would be demotivated and relapse? Or would it remotivate you to start fresh ? So I'm not giving you a straight answer, but I hope these questions help you find your own answer.
I see absolutely no reason to reset for a wet dream. They 100% beyond your control. That's where I draw the line. I don't like them, they are annoying, but are simply another obstacle. There is no conceivable way to stop them.
Hard mode does not require a reset following a wet dream. The reason is that it happens when you are unconscious, so there is no intent involved. You are not cheating yourself. You are nearly at 12 days clean from masturbation and porn so, enjoy your progress and carry on
I'm 25 days into hard mode. I never had a wet dream in my life, probably because I started masturbating early and never stopped. At 47 years old, I probably never will. If I do, I'll be happy.
The previous posters were right, a wet dream does not reset your counter! However, unfortunately it does somewhat reset your testosterone build-up. Don't worry about it though, it's a natural process when abstaining initially! The wet dreams become more and more infrequent until your body adapts to the change Keep going strong!
Thank you everyone for your replies...I don't think I will reset but just accept that wet dreams are part of the challenge. Even though I feel wet dreams disrupt the NO PMO process and the next day i feel I am De-mojonized ( this kinda gives me a false sense that I have masturbated) ,I will carry on and keep getting stronger as the dreams are totally unconscious and there is sweet FA I can do about it... I thought about what Gasparzinho said and yes I would feel like a failure and probably relapse if I reset my badge. Thank you all once again!
Wet dreams are the body's way of easing a build up... physically and psychologically. It is a hard-wired function which clearly serves a purpose. The whole concept of nofap is avoid un-natural habbits right? There's nothing un-natural about wet dreams.
