I have been on NoFap about a year before I made an account and I have noticed some very weird views on this thread. First, let's examine why we're doing NoFap. Many people have different reasons but I assume most started with YourBrainOnPorn. We're here to restore our lives to pre-porn levels.
Alot of people here on NoFap have a morality issue with with sex in general. This isn't a morality issue, it's a biological issue. Pornography is bad because it conditions the brain's sexual response system to respond to only certain types of sexual stimuli. Such as videos, pics, and pixiles. Then only certain camera angles, certain moans, certain fetishes. Then finally only things that shock them (opposite sexual preference porn, beastiality). I.e. it ruins your normal/natural sexual arousal response system.
Pornography ruins real life sex (PIED); PIED is caused by the brain's sexual arousal system to only be triggered by videos, pics, etc. So a real life women won't cut it. In addition to PIED, it can make people ejaculate only when the videos ending (delayed ejaculation) and it make real life sex orgasms awkward because there is no video to tell them when the time is "up". it makes people tired and confused (brain fog); and can cause people to 'not there all' in social situations (social anxiety). It is agreed by most people that pornography is very bad.
Masturbation, or more importantly, excessive masturbation, can cause death grip which can lead to desensitization.

So these are the scientific and biological reasons why pornography is bad for your brain and sexuality.

There are nothing biologically wrong with having casual sex, or one night stands, or having sex just for pleasure. Having casual sex or hiring prostitutes or escorts is NOT like watching pornography. That is real sex, not porn. Wether you consider it morally "wrong" is up to you. But real sex will not cause PIED, delayed ejaculation, brain fog or death grip.

TL;DR this is not a morality issue, it's a physical, biological issue.

For me, it's also moralistic. When I was in my addiction, every now and then I would feel like I was actively contributing to the downfall of humanity. So empty inside. That sucked. Glad I'm one or two steps further now.

  3. Yeah, but that stuff can be harmful too, not to mention expensive.

Lots of people will strobgly disagree that there's nothing wrong with hiring escorts for sex, and for many other reasons beyond just moral or religious reasons. For one thing, it's illegal in many locations. In fact, enouraging hiring escorts for sex is against the rules of this forum.

On the rest of it, that's the truth for you, and that's fine. But it's also ok for others to have moral or religious reasons against PMO. Live and let live.

    @TrueHuman

I like how you get right to the point and use science to support your position. Your argument does not stray from the physical implications of pornography. Your argument is confined to biology and biology only.

You then leave it to the reader to make their own conclusions about casual sex and prostitutes, without taking a position.

    Well said.

To quote from the rules concerning posting about things of a religious or an anti-religious nature:

"Please refrain from posting things of religious or anti-religious nature unless if you’re sharing your personal story within your personal journal. If someone mentions how religion or a lack of religion has helped them, please do not criticize them. If you want to debate, there are other web communities for that. Unless if you’re sharing your own personal story within your own personal journal thread, submissions should be secular so that Fapstronauts from all backgrounds can benefit from it. Live and let live - regardless of your faith or lack thereof, don't try to impose your views onto other Fapstronauts. For conversation geared towards your particular beliefs, check out the user-organized Groups feature. If a group doesn't exist for your creed, you are more than welcome and encouraged to start one!"

I don't believe I mentioned religion at all in the OP. Nor did I disrespect any religion. I am simply saying that porn causes physical changes in the brain. I also didn't "encourage" hiring escorts, I simply said it doesn't produce the same brain changes that pornography does. Therefore, you can think it's morally wrong if you want, but in terms of a physical and biological standpoint, there is nothing wrong with it as it will not have the negative side effects associated with pornography.

Yeah agree with true human. Biologically its not wrong to hire prostitutes. Legally its a different issue altogether. He is not encouraging it. Just talking facts

Dude, I very much agreed with that perspective about 3 months ago. Then I tried it and guess what? it has the same effect as porn. I started nofap in November last year and the results of my first streak (52 days) were phenomenal. I suffered from PIED and after only 20 Days I was seeing fantastic results. after 3 months of different relapse periods ( 2 to 3 times/month). I started sleeping with a lot of people. like someone every day (sometimes more depending on my mood). I was hungry for sex and wanted to prove to my self that I am good and cured.

After a couple of months, guess what? PIED returned again, I substituted porn with normal sex which was suppose to be good for you. but in the end, if it is excessive and meaningless like Porn, multiple partners with no connection, it will have the same consequences. At least this is my opinion on the matter after my experience.

What you experienced is probably over ejaculation or stimulation. If you look at my history, i dont have much porn problem. But my real problem is masturbasion. I used to mo atleast once a day mostly without porn. So try to do reboot on hardmode atleast till you are completely rebooted.

With all due respect if you have a serious pornography addiction then 52 days won't cut it. 90 days is the bare minimum. Yourbrainonporn says for young people it may take up to 2 years to recover fully from pre-porn levels. I have over 180 days of no intentional porn viewing and I have made great changes, but I know I'm still not complete.
Idk what to tell you, sex isn't supposed to feel bad. Go 90 days and beyond. 52 days of no porn isn't going to cure years of damage from pornography use.

I agree that there is a moral component. Especially if you're in a relationship. I'm not going to touch the prostitution aspect or the girls that are performers on P, but if you're in a relationship you're not able to give as much as you normally could to a relationship. I'm only at 11 days and did MO today (not to P thank god), and I'm amazed at the shear amount of time that we have.

having sex with an escort still gave me intense brain fog, psychological damage such as 10x regret, 10x fear of std. first time was the last time. i would never ever see an escort ever again. rather fk myself than doing that.
