Hey guys I currently have been homebound for 6 months now with agoraphobia. Fear of a panic attack. Was wondering if anyone has had nofap help them become less anxious. I know its not a magic bullet but there seems to be some real brain changes when you look at porn for years

Im hoping the same thing. I don't experience panic attacks but my body feels like it's in a state of constant anxiety as it vibrates constantly up my legs and back. And I think it may be down to alot of porn use. So hopefully it ll help

I have been looking at porn for over 34 years and masturbating every single day, since I was 13 to now that I am 38.

Today I am on my day 2. And contrary to what you might think I could say its like a magic bullet. Yet, if you expirience panick attacks I will say to try joinning sport groups, gym and so on, and places to make friends, they will help you forget about pmo and fapping, if you join nice sport groups. Could be cross fit, atheletics or others. You will feel better.

Its been hard since I am agoraphobic. But this support group is great !

I miss playing sports. Porn really left me afraid of people. I still MO occasionally but try to keep it as low as possible

Great news. I will just have to keep on trucking to sobriety!

  5. I was incredibly anxious from the time I hit puberty (was masturbating way earlier, as early as 1st or 2nd grade but didn't start technically jerking it or fapping until I hit puberty around 11 or 12, once I started ejaculating semen my life took a turn for the worst as the important fluid that should not be ejaculated until a boy's growth is complete which isn't actually until 23 or 24 according to Ayurvedic Medicine anyways getting off topic) until I started training kung fu at 18 and stopped masturbating and wasting sexual energy. I started meditating daily and my anxiety totally disappeared for the first time since I hit puberty.

I only get anxious for about a week after a relapse these days. But my relapses are beyond terrible these days and my concern is now a life or death matter. Anxiety is the least of my worries.

Interesting. I always thought porn was the problem. I was on a streak 48 days in and I found I was too wound up from not releasing

  7. Porn is a huge problem. Wasting semen is also a problem. Find the veterans, they'll tell ya what's up.

I was peacefully celibate for 5 years straight, and wasn't a virgin before that or anything, it was happily partaken of.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but in all seriousness, you weren't doing it right. 48 days without an orgasm is nothin. People go celibate for a lifetime, take Buddhist monks for instance.

The issue for you was not transmuting or sublimating the energy properly, hence the tension.

I spent most of my life in my house playing video games and watching movies and jurking off. Since I was a teenager I have been afraid of asking girls out, and I did not socialize much, later in university I become a bit more sociable. Also after that I got addicted to games again and got again difficult for me to socialize for times. Two years ago I got into a mental hospital for being highly paranoic , and after I got out of the hospital I keep on with my panick attacks , it took me month to recover, I still have smaller panick attacks mixed with rage, there are times when I feel like I wanna hit someone or brake something, then I remember that rage its not the logic thing to do, and I stop...

i think the key to overcome panick attacks and other things is to push oneself little by little to do things to get better. Like for instance for me trying to talk a bit in the gym and in the swimming pool to the people that I know helps, also quitting fap gives me confidence to try to talk. I even have the confidence to aproach random girls in the street to try to get dates, even though I know they will fail...lol.... But I am gainning confidence, and today I am on my day 2 of NoFap.

Umm yeah... Transmuting... Well man that site is not very scientific. Very bold claims without much to back it up except one study where the test went up 145% on the 7th day....

I think it might be taking things a little to far....

I think 48 days is a lot. I think it all depends on the person. Monks are exceptional rare people who only train and live to be monks and have the highest and strictest discipline. You cannot compare it to a normal person.

Personally I never went more than 15 days, and that was because I was camping with other kids when I was a kid myself and I was not planning to jurk off in front of others. I never thoutgh about NoFap until past year.

I think is good to give credit to people for their efforts according to who does it, personally history and other factors.

I had unexplained anxiety for so long and it gave me fear of the most random things. That has deceased dramatically due to nofap.

Yes it did, but when I began with an intensive NoFap streak, then first the anxiety attacks suddenly became worse. It was really extreme, heavy attacks came out of nowhere. But after a few days, this went away, and then it was much better than ever before.

Hey guys, I just signed up for this site a few days ago. Anxiety is a serious issue for me too, I don't know that fapping is the cause, but I do know that my mood lowers afterwards and I feel quite depressed for a period of time.

In my personal experience, the best help that you can get for anxiety however is to talk to your doctor and get a referral to a psychologist. You may need to try out a few different psychologists before you find one that you can relate with and that will be able to help you, I went to maybe 5 or 6 before I found someone who I was able to work with and achieve real results.

I don't know where you live, in Australia we get 10 subsidised visits to a psychologist per year with a doctors referral, I would not have been able to afford it otherwise. Hopefully wherever you live they have a similar system in place.
