Hey guys, When I first was thinking about doing NoFap I considered buying a chastity device so that I was making the total decision and would have no way out (Obviously giving the key to a friend). However, the more I thought about it the more I disliked that idea. In my opinion, to truly succeed in NoFap, you need to have your mind on other pursuits and making sure that you have other things that you are doing that keeps your mind off masturbation. However, with a chastity device, which is rather heavy, your mind is almost always on your penis, and therefore you find it hard thinking of anything else. What do we think? Do we agree or am I talking rubbish (which is a very likely possibility )
You are right. It would probably have an adverse effect. Free yourself from the mental monotony of porn and go do something interesting!
Well using a chastity device depends on what your actual goal of all this is; If you use one you won't stop fapping because "you want to be stronger mentally and fight against my inner demons" but more of a "oh i can't PMO because i am being physically blocked" it turns NoFap into more of a now I CAN'T do it, so I won't. I believe the whole point of this challenge to be knowing you can do it whenever you want, but choosing not to. But really it's all opinionated, You could use one if you just don't want to PMO/MO no matter what. Good luck!

Yeah, it's important to be sensible in avoiding triggers, but ultimately the decision to quit PMO needs to come from something deeper than the puny physical barriers that we erect (lol) around us. I think i've always at least suspected PMO to be 'wrong', but it has taken me ages to really and truly be convinced of that and to start making serious acts of will to stop. It's a process. RE chastity belts, scourging and other violence against your body: the reason we dont do this anymore is because, unlike hundreds of years ago where it was impossible to avoid large families and constant interaction with communities, today we are way more isolated from eachother. So today the 'scourge' and pain is actually just being close to people and not hiding away and burying your head in porn when anyone starts to get on your nerves. I sometimes think that if only we had functional societies again, we'd never be such easy prey to PMO; if we had daily interaction with the elderly, babies, children and the middle aged - learning from some, teaching others, helping more etc etc, we would see the great variety, seasons and joys of life, rather than just fixating on people who are young, beautiful and sexually ripe, and obsessing about just the physical pleasure we could get from them.. What is a chastity device? I get the concept but how would it work? Is it like protective cup that locks on with a belt or something? How would you pee? I think mental chastity is for me. It's the temptation I want to beat but I guess whatever works.
It sort of goes over the penis so it restricts how hard you can get but there is a hole to pee from so it doesn't stop that

Don't you wet yourself when peeing? How are you supposed to aim? Can't you dry hump the device by lying face down?
It goes around your balls to stay on, if you google cb6000 you'll see an example, it's uncomfortable if it tries to get hard but not necessarily sore. Peeing is fine as long as you're sitting down and dry thoroughly. There's little to no mobility when hard in the device so in theory you can't dry hump.
OMG that thing looks like a mid evil torture device. I guess once its locked on thats it. Crazy there are companies that make this stuff who uses it? Definitely not for me especially living in a dorm environment I couldn't even think how i could explain why I was wearing it not that I would. If it helps others I'm not gonna judge.

No worries Im only at day 7 & going a little crazy I could see how maybe something like that could help get you through a phase or something. I guess I was just kinda freaked out when I saw what it was. I guess I wouldn't rule it out if I thought it would work. But at some point you got to go without it so dunno.
Hello, I've been using a metal sctoral stretcher for over a year now. They have made my balls hang lower. I love how it makes them hang and dangle down there. It doesn’t cause any discomfort or arousal whatsoever. So, I was wondering is it okay to wear it for a few hours every day during nofap? And if I do, will it affect my nofap progress? I am new to nofap and on my 5th day of hard mode and thought that I should ask the others.
If it's sexual in nature - I would say drop it. Stop focusing on your genitals and focus more on things like shame, denial, finding connection, emotional connections and such. Something like this would be like an alcoholic working in a bar - or maybe drinking nyquil - yeah it's not porn but it's close enough why even risk it?
