Just try and visualize a the urge in a physical form, as if you are holding it, now take it and throw it away, realise what the urge is and see it as an individual thing that isn't part of you and you can get rid of it, don't let the urge be stronger than you.

 

just realize youre making the choice to give in, you know everyone gets these urges, how you deal with them is up to you.

 

When the urges get stronger, You have to get stronger.
Always be one step ahead and show your body who's in control.

 

I used to struggle with this immensely and it can drive you to insanity given the chance. This worked wonders when I tried it after reading it a while back and is probably the most valuable advice I've had to date - feel emotional when you get aroused. I mean force yourself to think of something that provokes an emotional reaction, as (don't quote me on this) apparently the part of the brain that controls arousal is overridden by the emotional part, and for me this is an almost sure fire way. For me it was a girl I was after who had shown interest when I abstained, so use whatever reason it is you are doing this to get emotional and it should almost instantaneously quell arousal.
