Thought I'd join this community because I saw this video which explains how PMO causes a dip in motivation and it kinda makes sense. I don't think I'm addicted to PMO- I fap 3-6 times a week depending on how busy I am, but I find it pretty hard to control myself. And I want to work on that. Hopefully joining this community will help. About me: I'm a grad student in the US pursuing a degree in Electrical Engg. I like watching and playing soccer (European Football) and I'm an LFC supporter. I also like watching TV, Movies and listening to Beatles' music and other classic rock. Thanks.
Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and not judge you. The best way to determine if you are addicted to something is to choose to stop doing it, at that moment, to never do it again. If the thought of that unnerves you, there's a problem, if you can't do it, you have an addiction. For an example, normal addictions everyone has are to food, water and air.
Yeah everyone came here thinking they are not addicts. But after we try to quit and fail, we gotta admit it. I'm in a similar situation, I need to study and fap and games are getting in my way. Study a lot man and welcome to the community
Hi DJ, I agree with everything you said. And so, I must say- I am addicted to PMO. I thought the frequency is a parameter in determining in whether or not one is addicted. It probably is, but I like how you put it. When I consciously try to disengage, it becomes really difficult for me to stop engaging in PMO. But I find abstaining becomes much easier when I have something important going on. And that's probably the case for most users here. My motive, at least for now, is to stop watching porn altogether and control my masturbation habits. Thanks!
Well, I think starting with a simple 7 day No Porn challenge would be a good idea and then build on that slowly. I have tried to quit altogether many times and I'm certain that's not possible atm. So just want to start easy. My first end goal is to stop watching porn altogether. And then will focus on M. Thoughts?
