Thanks for this. I am doing vipassana meditation too. I took a 2 month intensive vipassana meditation retreat 2 months back which changed me completely and now I can meditate and view life like you have just mentioned: staying mindful of whatever that comes in the mind. Although I have been meditating for the last 5-6 years, my meditation wasn't established enough to watch the urges but now I can. Meditation comes very easily and naturally now.
I wouldn't use the words "right" or "wrong", it's just different techniques that are working towards the same goal from different angles. One might work better for on type of person, and their goals, and other for different type. Don't get me wrong, I think we are on a same page here. And I am probably just quibbling over words here lol. But I would not say it's about clearing anything when it comes to Vipassana, at least not from my perspective. That's judgement, that's forced control, forced expectations. To me Vipassana is not about waiting for cloudy sky to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain.
Dre, I believe that I was misrepresented; I can't imagine having written anything like, "Reaching out into your pants while in your room all alone?" Doing pushups, your hands are flat on the floor, but, I did suggest being careful. Something could be rubbing on the carpet as you go up and down if you aren't careful. I would recommend tight underwear.
My bad @HappyDaysAreHereAgain, I was putting your ideas in my own words By the way I tried doing that a few times and it's been helping
