Hello everyone. I found out this site yesterday and I decided to join this great community. I tried many times to stop P and M but I often failed after 2-3 days. Now I'm willing to fight for better me and stop doing it. I don't know what else to write here, I set my goal to 60 days and now it's time to face the odds. I hope that we'll all help each other to reach success. Waiting for any tips.
    Cheers guys.

My best tip is to explore the forum. Read as many threads as you can. You will pick up loads more tips along the way and identify with similar people.

    Good luck!

Hey, it's the 3rd day and it's not that bad. Everytime when I start to think about PMO I talk to myself that I've made a commitment that I need to stick to. Also reading about other guys successes help me to fight for better future. I know it's just the beginning and I'm prepared for the bumpy road. Also I want to use that moment for working on myself especially on how I spend my time. I read more books, started to play guitar, working out, planning my nearest future, praying etc. Things that I hope will keep my thoughts away from my enemy.

Sounds like you're heading in the same direction I am. I'm new, too...almost a week in. It's time to do all those things on my list of things to do "someday".

Yay! I'm really pleased it is working out Avalion. So glad you replied and are still on track. Recognising those urges and talking to yourself is all part of mindfulness, being aware of what the different levels of your brain is doing and communicating through those layers. It's a really good method for fighting urges.

pizzaman - I can tell you from experience, the amount of stuff you can get done as you quit PMO is incredible and deeply rewarding.

    Good luck!

So it's the time to reset the counter. Damn those triggers. Only 5 days and failure came upon me like a thief. But the plus is that after PMO I feel so ashamed that I started digging deeper and found article about my problem, I recommend to all of you guys to read, for me it sound like it was adressed to me.

Damn! Another one to fall over the weekend. Well done Avalion for coming back. And for confronting your addiction rather than just being ashamed of it. That is the best way to deal with it.

So what triggered you? Write it down. Write all your triggers down. And devise different ways to fight those triggers. Focus on what you can do when you feel those urges. Practise in your mind what it feels like when you recognise the trigger and how to disperse it. Some people vocalise. Others immediately walk out of the room they are in. Some have the discipline to meditate. Me, I just swear at myself.

    I like your signature quote.

    Good luck!

I've spent more time on this site and YBOP and some other youtube vids etc than anything else. I keep reminding myself even when I feel certain of no relapse.Because, I KNOW without a doubt that excessive jacking has affected and deviated my life. Thought booze and pot etc were the main culprits. They should be avoided /heavily regulated in my life too! But, PMO was the elephant in my room. Didn't see it though til recently. Drive On!

Thanks guys for your words. I really appreciate them. I have another quote from one of my favourite movie:
Why do we fall ? So we can learn to pick ourselves up. I stick to that. This is the point of no return. I have to succeed.
