I'm 32 year old and married (no kids). I'm a software engineer by profession. I started masturbating when I was 15 and got hooked into porn when I was 18. I always thought that I would easily get rid of this when I have a stable partner or get married, but it proved terribly wrong.

I read about nofap and decided to challenge myself and get rid of this life-threatening (by "life", I mean that real and beautiful life that I was missing coz of this vice) habit, as it was really affecting my married life and my career. Immense addiction to P and M, made me lethargic towards the actual sex-life with my partner. I was not doing justice to her and the relationship. It has reached such a state that I seldom get aroused by her touch or stimulations. And regarding my professional life, I waste a lot of time for P and M and this hindered my growth as a good engineer. My attention span towards learning and thinking has drastically reduced.

I stopped living the real life and I stopped enjoying the small joys in life. I want to channel my time and energy towards knowledge and love. I want to strengthen my sexual relation with my partner (the marital relation is excellent except for sex and I thank god for giving me such a wonderful partner). So I'm starting this challenge from today where I abstain from porn and masturbation.

Just reading through this forum has been such an inspiration. I'd love to interact more with the people here and share thoughts towards the betterment of each other's life.

    Thank you all :)

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

Thanks for the support and inspiration. My current strategy is to stay away from P and M and channel my thoughts and energy to strengthen my marital life and career.
I'm spending time for workouts and outdoors. I'm creating a list of triggers which I need to avoid and overcome.
