About varicocele, home treatment and lifestyle changes.

  1. Hello everyone.About a week ago i had a worrying enough pain in my left testicle and abdominal (while overmasturbating for the past 2 days too..) I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with varicocele a couple days ago. The doctor didnt recommend me surgery. He said that sitting/standing too long could negatively affect it and coughing affects it too (and at that time i was heavily coughing for 2-3 days and normal coughing for like a week) so he just adviced me to eat well, avoid weightlifting and rest for some days and if the pain/varicocele is still here then i should start thinking about surgery. So i went home and started searching about it and even if its not really popular, i found a book about home treatment that looks promising (by Daniel Johnson) and started following some of his advices and well for the first two days there was no pain or visible varicocele so i just gave up into porn again and after binging there was pain and varicocele again so i decided this is serious and could affect my whole life. Since varicocele causes testicular atrophy and testosterone decrease i thought i should really just put my priority to fix it. Success stories of varicoceles seem good enough to me but i still have many questions. I had low testosterone to begin with (because of all the excess pmo'ing) and now with testicular atrophy im afraid of ill ever be normal. How long do i have to stop going to the gym for? it was one of my only hobbies and on my 14 days of nofap i was already experiencing way more strength and also many personal records in the gym. Now i feel like its been taken from me and its my fault. How do i fix this? How long do i have to wait until my testicles are functioning normally again and when can i start lifting again? Any advice is welcome.

  3. My varicocele got worse and it was physically and mentally affecting me so i got the surgery.
its been 6 months since and i healed pretty fast. no pain/discomfort ever since.

i havent tried lifting weights since the corona because all the gyms are closed, but im doing calisthenics and it doesnt affect me at all.

if your varicicele bothers you, i would recommend you find a good urologist and go from there.
