It's nice to have sex, but basically I have walked this world alone, beautiful people coming in and out of my life, through circumstance or death or suicide, my whole life. The list is long and I am happy to have known these woman and their wonderful, warm bodies, minds, peculiarities and interests, and varied insanities.

Do the work, lad...and do it every day. Stay here, stay now.

I happen to be reading the chapter on solitude in Walden. I don't know if your situation is more affected by lockdowns, the lack of romantic companionship or both, but it can actually be a positive reset considering the value of solitude. Aside from the point about the quality of companionship in this quote - which I would point out applies to women and romantic relationships as well, even the part about skin - the second quote below basically talks about mindfulness, in particular the witnessing state. And in reflecting on it now, it occurs to me we could even understand it to be of the same principle as "in the world but not of it." I'll leave it there for now and see if you have any thoughts and reflections.
