    Greetings, Fapstronauts.

Some background information about myself seems like a good place to start. I'm a thirty-year-old heterosexual man with depression, anxiety, and mild agoraphobia. Additionally, life-long shyness, body image issues, low self-esteem, and a tendency to isolate myself have plagued me, all of which intensified at puberty. Due to a strong science background and for philosophical reasons, I'm an atheist. Normally, I'd consider that irrelevant, but I've noticed that many folks here tailor their advice around religious beliefs.

I have been watching porn for approximately eleven years. It started small, but in the recent past, I have ramped it up to the point at which I am no longer hesitant to view strange fetish content if the desire to do so arises. About half the time, I masturbate without porn. In general, masturbation functions effectively as an outlet through which to temporarily alleviate anger or grief.

During the last days that I spent as a 29-year-old, I lost my virginity to an escort (had to beat the ol' 3-0, right?). I do not regret the decision at all. I performed horribly, but the experience was a big eye-opener for me because I was able to see first-hand just how detached from reality I had become. I realized that being able to get hard erections on demand while masturbating alone didn't necessarily mean that I could get them anywhere else. I never had erectile problems until that day and haven't had them since, so I could conclude that it probably wasn't a physiological/circulatory concern. Although I am a staunch advocate of legal and accessible prostitution, my position is NOT a recommendation to anyone else. I hope that all readers will understand that.

Presently, my goals can be summarized as follows:
    • I have no intention to stop masturbating. I believe that it's a normal, healthy act when done in moderation. But, sometimes I masturbate two or three times in a single day, and I do think I should reduce that to 2-6 times per week.
    • With regards to porn, I am now convinced that the images I've seen in porn have negatively impacted how I interpret real sexual situations. In light of that, I hope to gradually cut back on the amount of porn (including non-nude fetish content) that I watch so that I can undo some of the desensitization I've inflicted. Hopefully, I will manage to remove porn from my life entirely in the next three years. Porn isn't the only factor to blame for the ED that hit me that day, but it's undoubtedly a meaningful one.
    • Ultimately, I hope to establish a healthy sexual relationship with a suitable partner. While I think favourably of prostitution, it's not a long-term solution, nor do I want it to be. I don't plan on using it as anything other than a reliable, calculated learning tool through which to measure progress.
Thanks for reading! And sorry about the length! If anyone has questions they wish to keep private, I'm happy to respond to PMs.

    Good luck in your endeavours.
