I just relapsed from 18 days, which is the longest I think I've gone since....probably about 2002, honestly. My old pattern was to PMO once or twice a night (on average) and call it good. Tonight, I was going to go to bed over 3 hours ago, but ended up doing a quick image search and, one thing led to another, and I've gone 4 rounds in ~3 hours. Is that sort of 'relapse binge' normal?

    *update*
Now I'm at 5 rounds for the night and things are getting sore. This is pathetic.

I also experienced the same everytime I relapsed, the longest streak I had was for 21days after that I binge PMO for 2 days, 3 rounds each day. I think is quite normal for starter. After each relapsed, I made future action plans for intense urges along the way

It's both normal and abnormal. It's normal in that binges are a common occurrence in addictions, but they are also abnormal because binging is a very unhealthy practice and shows the severity of the addiction.

Peeking at erotica for hours is also binging behavior even if you technically just ejaculate once.

I actually made a topic a while ago on binging https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/do-you-binge-when-you-relapse.203154/

Relapse binges - ejaculating 5 times in less than 4 hours of porn consumption - is not normal. It is often seen among some in the community here, but there is nothing normal about it. Masturbation is fake sex; cumming onto your body or in a tissue it is fake sex; when you watch other people getting naked and fucking each other, it is fake sex. There is nothing normal about even doing these things once. Doing them 5 times in a few hours is even further removed from normality. Unfortunately, these behaviours are seen among some, not all, in a community of porn addicted members.
I looked at some other issues you have raised in other threads. Neglect really is emotional abuse and I am sorry that you had that experience. Such things can have a profound effect on our personality and how we deal with things and view our world. As you have come to realise, it is important to see the whole picture of the way our responses were shaped.
I hate you - don't leave me (Jerold J. Kreisman, Hal Straus), is a book you may consider reading. It explains the reason people do that i.e. push people away after a few months. The root causes are always some kind of invalidating environment that occurs when we are emotionally, physically or sexually abused as children. The resolution of your issues may require that you address those early experiences.
