Now this may sound a bit peculiar, but after having made the connection that low dopamine caused by PMO addiction (or really any addiction) alongside low norepinephrine, can "cause Parkinson's".

But what I want to know, does it cause the actual illness due to low dopamine, or just mimics it like a pseudo Parkinson's syndrome? I say this because my low norepinephrine is causing me to lose control over my body's ability to control salivary flow, causing hypersalivation, and this seems to be the case as I have 0 other potential causes for hypersalivation.

This question may not seem like it belongs here due to being more akin towards something not nofap related, BUT, it will give me more reason to remain abstinent.

  2. I think it's safe to say the hyperstimulation that comes with PMO is never a good thing. I won't shy away from saying it can cause clinical depression, so I'm inclined to believe it may increase the risk for developing Parkinson's as well. There's no real evidence but yes, you are better off abstaining to give your system the rest it needs.

The best way to find out is to quit, and see what changes you notice. There are undoubtedly a lot of physical symptoms caused by PMO, but there isn't enough science to tell us what is really going, so far, so that is the only way that any of us can get the measure of our own individual situation.
