In my journey I'm defining porn as "anything that makes me horny" so it could be even non explicit and it would be called porn. I think everyone should do this, it isnt fine as long as its not a video

 

I doubt that anyone ever argued that sex chat isn't porn. Any definition of pornography includes written erotic content. However, you're right that sex chat kinda flies under the radar in general, when it's the worst form of porn exactly because it's interactive and so engaging.

At my worst, just before I decided enough was enough, I would catfish either as a male or a female, trying to solicit other chat users into taking part in specific roleplay scenarios (of course they would often try to do the same with hilarious results). I'd typically chat with up to ten users in two or three different chat platforms, until one or two of them started following my lead, while at the same time having multiple tabs of porn pics and vids open, in case the chat died down or nobody took the bait. Sometimes, when the circumstances allowed it, those sessions could last up to 12 hours of intermittent edging before O.

No wonder I'm struggling to perform in bed after 20+ years of porn and 10 years of nonstop sex chat. How can a wife compare with an on-demand, interactive, disease-free audiovisual galore?

 

Basically all artificial sexual stimulation is porn. Artificial sexual stimulation is anything artificial that sexually arouses you. So this could be porn videos, porn images, chat rooms, social media images, social media videos, youtube videos, google images. Basically if it's artificial and sexually arouses you then you should class it as porn.

The brain can't tell the difference between what is categorised as a pornographic video and a social media video for instance if you find them both sexually arousing.

If you deliberately search for social media images, videos, google images, youtube videos ext for sexual arousal and become sexually aroused when you see them, then you need to understand that the exact same thing is happening in the brain when you do this as when you search for what is categorised as porn content for sexual arousal, and it is also the exact same behaviour.

So yes you should class all artificial sexual stimulation as porn.

Naturally some things will cause someone higher levels of sexual arousal than other things. But if it is artificial and causing you sexual arousal then it all causes the exact same thing that to happen in the brain, and if it's artificial and sexually arousing to you and you keep searching it then it is all the exact same behaviour.

Seriously don't think your not searching for porn or masturbating to porn if you're getting off on social media images or youtube videos or something like that. As it is all porn to the brain.

 

I am new here, and I found your post about chat rooms. This is my downfall too. In fact the same you you mentioned. They can be a very powerful draw - mostly about the connection I suppose.

 

I've seen more than one thread about this and not just recently. The thing is there is no one thing, one site or even one KIND of site that the behavior is limited to. AND we're just talking about PMO. There's plenty of other stuff like anything from sensationalistic news to just general social media compulsivity. I like to point out there's entire network dependencies that support compulsive addictive behaviors, it's just more literally the case with things online - but even before people found themselves going to 12 Step groups for different addictions.

 

Even as I am here - struggling - the urge is there so visit a chat room and masturbate.
