I relapsed yesterday after 80+days of nopmo. The reason is that I finally thought I could start drawing figures again, because I am trying to become a professional illustrator. Obviously for learning how to draw figures I have to look at naked humans, and among naked humans also obviously naked women.
How do I learn from photos of naked women without it releasing any dopamine, and without it seeming erotic to me? Is that even possible if one is doing nofap?
Because if I can't do that, I can basicly forget being an illustrator. Drawing humans, especially females, is one of the most essential things to be able to do. And the bigger problem is that I don't even enjoy painting alot of things aside from humans.

I'm seriously considering to give up art for good and just start doing something else, because I just don't see how it'll be possible for me. I'll keep getting aroused, and even if it doesn't end up in me relapsing, it'll still do damage to my brain.

    Anyone any advise for this?

  2. Getting aroused is a natural occurance and is not going to do damage to your brain. You need to get to the point you are able to control your urges, otherwise youll always have trouble with some sort of compulsive vice. Working on your art can teach you not to turn to PMO every time you get aroused.

  3. While you are rebooting from your addiction, draw naked men. There is no need to draw naked women for a few months.

You can always draw statues of woman or 3d anatomical objects of woman that show muscles with no skin. If you are that sensitive than I would advise you to keep drawing male body types because the differences aren't that great between the male and female body. As long as you understand the hip/shoulder proportions, jawline and other subtle differences you should be fine for the time being.

Obviously, there are many forms to art. So the reality is you don't have to give up drawing, you just need to find different ways to Express yourself. I love painting and I love oil painting, so what I tend to do is I tend to draw abstract pictures. This is one way that I can avoid porn and still do the things that I love to do.

If you are getting the figure examples from a computer screen... more dopamine will be released because you may associate the computer with porn. ( It's like when you get into bed to read, but then you feel tired, because you associate the bed with sleep. )

So get the figures from a book or someplace else.

Also maybe look at figures in swimsuits.. You will still get the body outlines that way.
