I still live with my parents, so I don't get many opportunities to dine alone. But when I have I don't feel awkward. But I'd still prepare and eat almost all meals at home if I lived alone, just because eating out takes so much time (and money). I went to a concert alone this summer, didn't even bother inviting anyone. I had a blast. There was an empty seat next to me, people may have thought I got stood up... Do I care? Nope!
