    There was a long period of time in my before I joined NoFap where I was equating my relationship with God with how well I was doing in my struggle with porn. Like if I could make it a week, then during that week, it felt like I was right with God. But then as soon as I relapsed, I felt very distanced from God.

    While I know this isn't how God's love works, it's hard to know that in the moment. Even though nothing can separate us from God's love, there's a big part of me that thinks my Faith is somehow measured by how well I'm doing with my struggle with PMO. So when I start failing with PMO, in my own mind, I'm falling farther away from God.

    Anyone else have a similar experience or have similar thoughts?

    If you judge yourself based on your performance, that will lead either to pride or despair; neither of which are good. We're accepted [by God] on the basis of Christ's perfect work, and how comforting that is! even on your worst day, God still loves you and wants you to repent. Rely on the grace of the Holy Spirit-- not on your own works, lest you fall into legalism.
