General success rate of curing PIED by reboot?

  2. Actually, I've read on YBOP and YBR that the younger guys, who started from the beginning, at an early age, with HSIP, before having real sex, often take the longest.

    https://www.yourbrainonporn.com/sta...y-reboot-erectile-dysfunction-taking-too-long

"If you are under 30 and started early on Internet porn, I strongly suggest you educate yourself on the differences between an adolescent brain and an adult brain. The difference is not simply quantity of experience, and learning the differences will help you understand why you (and those in your generation) were more vulnerable to developing porn-induced sexual dysfunctions than some older guys, who "set' their sexuality before they found streaming porn." - 03/01/2016

"As the ages went down between 2011 -2015, the length of flatlines increased, as did the length of recoveries.

We also started to see a few men 35-45 taking longer, because they had been using tube sites now for 8-10 years, rather than 1-2 years in 2007-08." - posted Jan 31, 2015

I think I read somewhere that Gary Wilson thinks those are the exception.

http://www.yourbrainrebalanced.com/...latline-i-hope-gary-agrees.33648/#post-527957 (This is specifically about flatlines, but also recovery)

    "
Only an infinitesimally small percentage of men who reboot continue to experience a long, uninterrupted flatline. The percentage of those men who attempt a reboot and who never recover from a flatline appears to be very very small.

The math: the major forums (YBR, RBN, Nofap.org, r/noffpa, r/porn free, YBOP) together have at least 100,000 visitors a day. Many millions per year. Out of these millions of men only a handful post to say that they have entered a very long flatline and feel unable to recover their from porn-induced sexual problem. These men were chronic porn users, and most are young men who used porn during adolescence.
    ....
Men were rebooting in 2006 on my wife's forum. YBOP came online in 2011, as did r/nofap. YBR in 2012. For many years only "older men" rebooted. Almost all did so for sexual problems. They did not experience long flatlines, and it only took 6-8 weeks to regain normal sexual functioning. Things started to change in 2012 when young men, who grew up on internet porn, started to reboot. Only then did we start to see extended recovery periods." posted Apr 8, 2016

The common factor for long rebooters is almost always the age they started porn, especially high speed connections.

The other factor is sexual experience: The ratio of masturbation to porn vs masturbation to fantasy about real partners, or fooling around with real partners." - posted Feb 23, 2013

Hey, you've taken a lot of effort to type in all these things, but could you please tell me in brief how long I might need to expect the cure?

I'm 30. PMO-ing since 18. MO without P since 12 but far less frequent. I kind of always preferred girl only videos during most of this time, so I wasn't too much into hardcore shit, but I did watch them now and then. I did have a gf back when I was 23, and I premature ejaculated when we tried to have sex. That was when I had 5 years of PMO (age 18-23). I've had no gf since then, but 6 months ago, I tried to have sex and had ED. I could get it up while watching porn so I'm guessing it's PIED. I did have fantasies about this girl, and she even sent me a few nudes and I used to get really horny looking at them, more than normal porn. Well, atleast when I first received those photos before I started binging on them long enough that I got bored of the same images. It's funny, I was crazy about her pictures, but when I had her naked in front of me in real life, I couldn't get it up.. Well I did have a mild erection, but it wasn't enough for vaginal sex. I've been pmo free for 44 days now. Had no morning wood for the last 3 years or so, had them very rarely, but I had it twice in the last 10 days. But I'm not getting crazy erections like I used to few years ago. However, I can manage almost crazy 9/10 erections while watching porn. I flatlined between days 7-20 of my noFap, but after that, I just experience movement down there whenever I think about her. I couldn't stop fantasizing about her now and then even during this noFap phase, and I get somewhat erect.

Thanks for reading my post, I just like to know how long I should expect approx, conisdering you seem to have some expeirence with this. It's alright if you're wrong lol, I won't hold you to it, but I'd like to know your opinion.

  4. I copy-pasted all that in - my typing is lousy!

And I just know what I've read; you can see my history in my sig.

Really, I can't say. The word for reboots: YMMV. The fact that you started with porn at 18 instead of 12 is in your favor. Morning wood is a good sign. Beyond that, I can't say.

It’s different for everyone. We can’t tell you that and it’s unfair to compare yourself to how long it took others because you may feel like you are not progressing. Let’s just say that you should see some changes within 90 days.

I think there are struggles that prevent men of all ages from recovering as quickly as others. I can totally see that a man who has had pmo as his only source of pleasure and is 30 would have an additional challenge because it’s all he knows! Whereas older men tend to have more sexual experiences. All I’m saying is that the scientific research shows that most men will experience some form of ED over the age of 40, and at 50 that’s even higher. Documented loss of sensitivity, higher orgasm threshold, longer refractory periods, weaker erections, difficulty sustaining erections etc. I’m not saying all men but a lot of men in that age range. So when you throw pmo into the mix it makes things a lot more difficult.

  7. There is no formula or slide rule. This is Brain Shit and Brain Shit takes as long as it takes. You’ve only been PMO free for 44 days. You’ve been jerking off since you were 12. Be patient. Don’t watch porn. Dont jerk off don’t fantasize.

You can speed things up by eating cleaner, meditating, exercising, getting off digital media regularly, spending time outdoors and socializing IRL.

But you have to be patient, consistent and careful.

  8. That certainly makes sense. But if somebody passes the porn test - boner with porn, no boner without porn - there's a good chance that it's PIED.

If the boner with porn has good EQ, that really drives the point home.

But, yes, everybody should check with their doctor, especially older guys, or guys making no progress over long periods.

No , it's not like that , PIED does'nt come and go or even transfer to ED ,yes it's waning and deteriorate with time as long as you masturbate but it won't become ED coz the etiology is different, so the consequences and result would be different, just try consult fertility physician and he will convince you with this point.

I think it would take years to heal. my habit is 15 years long i think it would take me much longer time than a person whos habit is 10 years long. The more the exposure is the more it takes to get back to normal. I would be so happy if i get a wet dream.
