Got drunk and joined a dating site...

Discussion in 'Dating during a Reboot' started by Deleted Account, Dec 10, 2017.

  1. I'm the occasional binge drinker, woke up the next day to find I had joined a dating site called plenty of fish. I'm a loner I chill at home playing games when I'm not working. So being lonely could have been a reason that urged me to do it, i want to find a nice girl for sure, but there are legit mainly slutty girls on there flaunting there stuff or legit selling it, some of the profiles have nudes god dammit. I'm 12 days into PMO according to my counter should I just straight up delete the site and soldier on with my loneliness? I'm too anxious at this time to approach any in person.

We all have different addictive, sexually compulsive behaviors. What's addictive for me may not be addictive for you, and vice-versa. I know that I personally can't use websites, apps, etc. I cruise those way too much, it's exciting, I feel a rush, time seems to standstill. I could waste hours, more or less the whole day, trying to find that one hit- that one response- to really send my mind in dopamine heaven. I struggle with it. If you're like that, I suggest keeping clear of it- it could trigger you, and all it does is reinforce that neural pathway.

If you are able to balance it, do it sparingly, and aren't triggered to PMO (thru loneliness or lust), then do it. Only you know what your true sexually compulsive and addictive behaviors are. Don't tempt yourself, don't cheat yourself, be strong. 12 days is a very good streak, don't lose it!

POF is what you make of it I joined late October and started NoFap a month later, but in that roughly a month of using POF I had 3 conversations with actual people, the rest were bots/selling themselves. I must have sent at least 50 messages on there, and only ever got 2 replies. I still have it on my phone, but now I laugh at some of the ridiculous profiles and spam messages. It is almost like a weird kind of motivation, as odd as that sounds. Give it a try for a month and delete it if it becomes tiresome.
